About Us
We are the youngest national newspaper in the UK - which means we have less legacy baggage than most news brands out there.
We are the only national newspaper that has never backed a political party, and that's not a weakness, it's our greatest strength. It means we hold every politician to account, regardless of who they are or what they stand for. No allegiances. Just honest, independent journalism.
About the role
This is an entry-level or senior exec marketing role and a great place to start or build your career in digital marketing. You'll work closely with, and report to, the Digital Subscription Marketing Manager, getting stuck into the day-to-day work that drives growth in paid digital subscribers. Expect to learn a lot, contribute from day one, and get hands-on experience across a genuinely varied mix of channels and projects.
We're looking for someone curious, creative, and eager to learn: a self-starter who brings energy and enthusiasm, asks good questions, and takes pride in doing things well.

- Assist in supporting strategic partnerships from set-up through to completion.
- Keep an eye on emerging news stories and flag opportunities to promote the brand and drive subscriptions.
- Pitch in on new marketing initiatives as they arise, no two weeks will look the same.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
