About Peacock Salt
Peacock Salt is the UK's largest salt supplier and distributor — an independent family business with more than 150 years of history behind it, and a sustained period of growth ahead of it.
Salt has over 14,000 known uses, so no two days here are the same — least of all in marketing. We supply ten broad industry sectors, including Winter, Water, Food, Cosmetic, Animal Feed, Hides & Skins and Industrial, and our portfolio goes well beyond salt to winter equipment, sugar, peppers and spices. That variety is what makes this a genuinely interesting marketing role: one campaign might be aimed at local authority winter maintenance teams, the next at a cosmetics brand.
The Role
We are looking for a Marketing Executive / Associate to join our small, busy marketing team. Working closely with and reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will take day-to-day ownership of our social media, content, marketing materials, email campaigns, performance reporting and events.
This is a hands-on role with real breadth. You will see your work go live quickly, you will be trusted with your own areas, and you will help shape how a well-established British brand shows up across a remarkably wide range of markets.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media
- Manage our social media accounts day to day and continue to develop our online voice
- Plan, build and schedule content calendars across LinkedIn, Facebook, X and other relevant channels
- Run and monitor both organic and paid campaigns, managing spend against budget
- Engage with our audience, respond to comments and messages, and flag anything needing wider attention
Content Production
- Create written and visual content — posts, stories, blogs, case studies, photography and short-form video
- Capture content on site and at customer locations where the opportunity arises
- Keep website content current, accurate and optimised for search
- Maintain a usable library of imagery, copy and brand assets for the wider business
Production of Marketing Materials
- Design and produce ads, flyers, brochures, product sheets, banners and presentations for print and digital use
- Liaise with printers, designers and other external suppliers to get work delivered on time and on budget
- Make sure everything that leaves the business is on brand and consistent across all the sectors we serve
- Support the sales team with the materials they need to win and retain business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
