Marketing & Events Executive
HW Finance | Leeds | Part-time, with flexibility over working days and hours
HW Finance is a specialist accountancy and finance recruitment business within HW Group. We work with organisations across the UK, helping them recruit finance professionals from newly qualified through to Board level. Relationships are at the heart of our business, and our marketing and events help us stay connected with clients, candidates and the wider finance community.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Marketing & Events Executive to bring our ideas to life, raise our profile and organise engaging client and networking events.
About the role
You’ll work closely with our team to create content, maintain our LinkedIn presence and coordinate events. You’ll also help us understand what’s working, tracking how marketing activity generates conversations, strengthens relationships and contributes to new business opportunities.
This is a hands-on, part-time role based in Leeds, with flexibility over working days and hours. It could suit an experienced marketing professional looking for flexible work, or a graduate with relevant practical experience who wants to build their career in a growing business.
What you’ll be doing
- Turning ideas and updates from the team into clear, engaging content for LinkedIn, email and marketing materials.
- Planning content that showcases our people, expertise, events and business news.
- Organising client and networking events, from invitations and guest lists to venue arrangements and follow-up.
- Creating invitations, banners, presentations and other materials in line with our brand.
- Managing the marketing and events calendar, gathering input and approvals from colleagues.
- Working with consultants to develop marketing activity around priority clients, sectors and topics.
- Agreeing objectives and tracking results, including attendance, enquiries, follow-up meetings and new business opportunities.
- Helping the team record relevant activity in Bullhorn so we can understand marketing’s contribution to revenue and return on investment.
- Reviewing results and recommending where to focus our marketing time and budget.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
