Wilsons of Epsom
Wilsons of Epsom is Surrey's largest family-run new and used car supermarket, trading since 1904. With over 1,000 vehicles in stock across new and used cars, vans, servicing, and repairs, and franchise partnerships including Renault, Dacia, Vauxhall, Leapmotor, Chery MG, Peugeot and Hyundai, as well as being authorised repairers for Fiat, Jeep, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Citroen, we're a well-established name with a loyal customer base built on trust and personal service.
We're looking for a social-media-savvy Marketing Executive
We're looking for a social-media-savvy Marketing Executive to lead our marketing function and bring fresh energy to how we tell our story — someone who knows how to build genuine engagement and drive footfall using creativity and platform know-how rather than big media spend, while also managing the wider marketing mix and our manufacturer relationships.
The Role
This is a hands-on marketing role for someone who thrives on organic growth but is equally comfortable running the full marketing function. You'll take ownership of Wilsons' marketing strategy and social media presence across our full range of products and services — new cars, used cars, vans, servicing and repairs — with the freedom to experiment, test content, and build a following from the ground up.
Alongside social media, you'll oversee our other marketing activity, manage and develop a Marketing Executive, and act as our key point of contact with manufacturer partners on joint marketing plans and brand compliance. You'll report directly to the Directors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You won't need a large budget to succeed here. What you'll need is instinct for what performs, sharp content-creation skills, strong organisational ability, and the drive to turn everyday dealership life into scroll-stopping content.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow Wilsons' presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and other relevant platforms, with little or no paid media support
- Plan, shoot and edit engaging short-form video and photo content on-site — new arrivals, walkarounds, staff and customer stories, workshop/servicing content, dealership life
- Build and manage a content calendar spanning new cars, used cars, vans, and servicing/repairs
- Grow organic reach and engagement through trends, community interaction, collaborations and consistent posting
- Manage and update the Wilsons website and online listings to ensure content is current and on-brand
- Track performance (reach, engagement, leads, enquiries generated) and adjust strategy based on what's working
- Coordinate with sales and service teams to identify content opportunities (new stock, offers, customer testimonials, seasonal campaigns)
- Plan and deliver the wider marketing mix beyond social — email, print, local advertising, PR, direct mail, events and sponsorships — as appropriate
- Ensure all marketing activity meets manufacturer brand guidelines and compliance requirements
- Manage, mentor and set priorities for the Marketing Executive, reviewing output and supporting their development
- Monitor and respond to reviews and social comments, protecting and building the Wilsons reputation
- Keep an eye on competitor and industry activity to spot opportunities and trends early
- Report on marketing performance and plans directly to the Directors

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience growing a brand's social media presence organically, ideally with limited budget
- Confident creating content yourself — filming, editing (e.g. CapCut, Premiere Rush, native platform tools), and writing engaging copy
- A genuine understanding of platform algorithms and what drives organic reach in 2026
- Self-starter who can manage their own workload and priorities with minimal oversight
- Experience managing or mentoring at least one direct report, ideally in a marketing or content role
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with sales and workshop teams and on-camera talent (including yourself, if needed)
- Some experience with website content management is a plus
- Interest in cars/automotive is a bonus but not essential — enthusiasm and creativity matter more
What You'll Get
- A rare opportunity to build a brand's social presence largely from scratch, with real creative freedom
- A direct reporting line to the Directors — your ideas will be heard and acted on quickly
- The chance to build and lead a small marketing team, starting with a Marketing Executive
- A stable, established employer with over 120 years of history in the local area
