Marketing Insight & Analytics Manager – Maternity Cover

Marketing Effectiveness & Analytics | Fixed-term contract (c. 12 months)

Join the team at the heart of understanding how marketing activity drives commercial performance across Awaze’s portfolio of brands. As Marketing Insight & Analytics Manager, you will be the analytical engine behind two connected areas of the team: commercial marketing insight – how our marketing plan, targets, and forecasts are tracking – and marketing performance insight – what is driving movements in bookings, revenue, and paid media efficiency, and why.

You will support the Marketing Effectiveness & Analytics lead providing the hands-on analysis, reporting, and investigation that keeps both areas running through a period of maternity cover. You will become the team’s go-to expert on our marketing database and dashboards – the person who knows what the data means, which metrics matter, and how to get from a question to an answer. This is a broad, hands-on, mid-level role, with the Marketing Effectiveness & Analytics lead providing context, and ownership of senior stakeholder decisions.

Your mission

Reporting directly to the Marketing Analytics & Effectiveness Lead, you will ensure the business has a trusted, commercially meaningful view of marketing performance. You will own the accuracy, consistency and interpretation of marketing performance reporting and analytical outputs, getting beneath movements in bookings, revenue and channel efficiency to explain what changed, why it changed and what action should follow.

You will work closely with the Senior Marketing Analytics Manager, who leads strategic commercial planning, the bottom-up forecast and the senior performance narrative. Your role is to provide the analytical depth behind this work: understanding what is genuinely happening within each channel, identifying the drivers of performance and providing the evidence and insight that shape strategic recommendations.

This goes beyond producing reports or completing predefined analysis. You will independently identify the questions that matter, determine the analysis required, challenge misleading or incomplete interpretations, and turn complex marketing, customer and commercial data into clear implications and recommended actions for stakeholders across Paid Media, Finance and Commercial.

What You’ll Be Doing

Marketing database & insight

  • Become the team’s go-to expert on the marketing performance cube and its supporting dashboards, which bring together tracked performance metrics such as sessions, bookings, channel activity and booking behaviour. Understand how the data is structured, how each metric is defined and how to use it to answer commercial performance questions.
  • Guide the wider team on reporting – advising on the right metrics to report, how to interpret them, and where reported numbers can mislead
  • Use the marketing performance cube to identify what is driving changes across brands, channels, source markets, destinations and regions; translate the findings into clear commercial implications and recommended actions, working with the relevant teams to track whether those actions improve performance.
  • Diagnose movements in sessions, bookings, conversion, revenue, spend, contribution, CPB, IPB, and ROI, separating genuine performance drivers from normal volatility and reporting noise
  • Analyse audience profiles, customer behaviour, and market trends to identify shifts in demand – and what they mean for where and how we market
  • Evaluate campaigns and marketing efficiency, connecting paid media activity with demand, seasonality, pricing, and availability
  • Reconcile differences between platform reporting, GA4, attribution outputs, and internal bookings and revenue data, flagging where tracking or methodology may distort conclusions
  • Investigate ad hoc performance, trading, channel, and campaign questions from across Marketing, Finance, and Commercial

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Go To Market, Forecasting & commercial planning support

  • Own the quarterly Go to Market (GTM) planning process, setting the timetable, coordinating inputs across Marketing and ensuring plans, budgets, targets and assumptions are brought together into a clear and consistent cross-brand view.
  • Use insight from the marketing performance cube to build the evidence base for each GTM cycle, identifying the channel, customer, source-market and booking trends that should shape marketing priorities.
  • Work with the Senior Marketing Analytics Manager, brand teams and channel leads to translate performance insight into marketing strategy, challenging assumptions and highlighting the opportunities, risks and trade-offs that need to be addressed.
  • Support the Senior Marketing Analytics Manager in validating the bottom-up marketing forecast against current channel performance, flagging early where emerging signals suggest that bookings, spend or efficiency assumptions are over- or under-stated.
  • Maintain accurate working views of the marketing forecast and commercial plan, sourcing the required inputs, reconciling inconsistencies and ensuring the numbers reflect the latest performance outlook.
  • Track delivery against agreed marketing plans, targets, CPBs and ROAS thresholds, identifying material risks and opportunities and recommending where plans may need to change.
  • Prepare the analysis, narrative and supporting materials for Go to Market sessions and regular Finance playbacks, including variance analysis, performance drivers and clear evidence behind proposed actions.

Reporting, measurement & ways of working

  • Run the trading and marketing reporting cadence – daily, weekly, and month-to-date views
  • Maintain and improve dashboards, trading views, and automated reporting so they surface the drivers behind performance, not just top-line metrics
  • Ensure performance media data is accurate across all brands and channels – validating that spend, relative impact, and business effect are captured correctly
  • Use automation and AI tools where appropriate to reduce manual reporting effort and increase the speed and quality of insight delivery
  • Deliver deep-dive analysis that informs marketing plans – using your command of the marketing database to move from question to insight to recommendation

Who We’re Looking For

You enjoy getting under the skin of performance data, asking commercial questions, and turning analysis into something people can act on. You are comfortable working across two workstreams with competing priorities, taking direction from two leads, and managing your own workload. You are naturally curious, highly numerate, and confident presenting what you find.

You’ll Bring

  • Solid experience analysing marketing, digital, or commercial performance in a high-volume, multi-channel business
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with confidence in reporting tools such as Tableau, GA4, Looker Studio, or Power BI
  • Genuine data literacy: you quickly learn how a marketing database is structured and become the go-to person on its metrics and definitions
  • Working knowledge of digital channel performance – spend, traffic, conversion, CPB, ROAS – across PPC, SEO, Social, and CRM, with the credibility to discuss it with channel managers
  • Experience tracking performance against targets, forecasts, and prior-year benchmarks, with the commercial judgement to separate what is material from what is noise
  • Clear written and verbal communication – you can turn analysis into a narrative that lands with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical interpretation and communication skills: you can move beyond reporting what the numbers say to explain why performance has changed, what it means commercially and what action should follow, articulating the story clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive, organised approach to managing competing priorities across two workstreams

Nice To Have

  • Exposure to marketing measurement techniques – incrementality testing, attribution modelling, or marketing mix modelling
  • SQL or database querying skills, or experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, Python, or automated reporting pipelines
  • Background in travel, e-commerce, or other high-volume, multi-inventory consumer businesses

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Keep insight and reporting continuity through the cover period – stakeholders in Paid Media, Finance, and Commercial notice no drop in quality or speed
  • Give the two leads a trusted analytical partner: accurate working forecast views, well-evidenced channel narratives, early risk flags, and playback materials that stand up to challenge
  • Become the recognised expert on the marketing database – the person the team trusts on which metrics to report and what the numbers actually mean
  • Establish trusted marketing data for the broader teams – one accurate, consistent view of spend, impact, and performance that Marketing, Finance, and Commercial can build plans on
  • Move dashboards and reporting from describing results to explaining drivers and implications
  • Reduce manual reporting effort through better automation and repeatable insight workflows
