Marketing Intern - Social Media & Content

Location: Hybrid / Birmingham
Contract Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract

About Us

The Mind Collective is a strategic marketing consultancy helping SMEs, challenger brands and established businesses grow through commercially focused marketing. We specialise in FMCG across food, drink, personal care and consumer goods. Ten years ago, we pioneered a plug-and-play marketing model that gives businesses flexible, modern marketing capability without the overhead of a traditional in-house team. We work with a wide range of exciting brands including Kraft Heinz, Lea & Perrins, Amoy, Heinz for Baby, HP Sauce, Golden Acre Food, Savyll Beverage Co, The Curators, Hayman's Gin, Daily Dose, Sweet Freedom, Juicy Marbles and more.

Role Overview

We're looking for a curious, proactive and detail-focused Marketing Intern to join our Social & Content team on a full-time, 12-month Marketing Internship. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience across social media, content creation, client account support and marketing delivery. Working closely with our Marketing Executives and wider team, you'll support the day-to-day management of client accounts, including social media activity, content planning, community management, reporting and project delivery, whilst building your understanding of how marketing campaigns are planned, delivered and measured.

From day one, you'll be working on real client accounts across a variety of exciting consumer brands, gaining practical agency experience alongside experienced marketers. You'll play an important support role across multiple client accounts, helping the team stay close to what's happening across social media, culture, creators, retail and category trends through:

  • Social Listening
  • Community Management
  • Trend Spotting
  • Competitor Research
  • Creator Discovery
  • Content Creation
  • Social Media Management
  • Marketing Administration

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about social media, loves spotting trends, enjoys creating content and wants to gain genuine agency marketing experience across a variety of exciting consumer brands. As your confidence and capability develop, you'll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility across client accounts and projects, providing an excellent pathway into a future Marketing Executive role.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Community Management

  • Support day-to-day organic social media activity across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
  • Schedule and publish content using social media management platforms including Hootsuite.
  • Monitor community conversations, comments and direct messages, responding where appropriate and escalating opportunities, risks or customer queries to the wider team.
  • Support the delivery of content calendars and in-month social media activity across multiple client accounts.
  • Under supervision, and once fully trained, assist with the day-to-day management of client accounts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What is it like working at TMC?

At The Mind Collective, we are a fast-paced, passionate team (from fresh graduates to seasoned pros) working across multiple clients and categories, where every day brings something new. Ninety-nine per cent of our business comes through word of mouth, which tells you everything about the relationships we build. We are proud to become an extension of our clients' teams and support their ambitious growth plans.

We genuinely care about each other, our clients and the work we do. We are collaborative, inquisitive, resourceful, resilient and commercially focused. We're transparent - no smoke and mirrors, fluff or bullsh!t - and we're definitely not stuffy or corporate. We work hard, support one another and take pride in what we deliver.

We are a busy marketing team where priorities can change quickly and no two days are the same. You'll often be working across multiple brands and projects, so being organised, adaptable and willing to get stuck in will help you get the most from the role.

We are passionate about supporting talent at the grassroots through our annual internship programme and are proud to have helped launch the careers of many talented marketers over the years. This internship is designed to provide a pathway into a Marketing Executive role. Subject to performance, delivery against objectives and business requirements, there may be an opportunity to progress into a permanent Marketing Executive position upon successful completion of the programme. Whilst many of our previous interns have gone on to secure permanent roles, progression is not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance and role availability at the time.

Finally, we're not perfect (no business is), but we're always learning, evolving and supporting one another. If you're looking for a role where your work matters, your ideas are valued and your career can genuinely grow, we'd love to welcome you to the team.
