About Orchard

Orchard is a SaaS security and compliance platform that helps organisations keep their Apple devices secure, up to date and audit-ready.

We continuously manage macOS updates, application patching and essential security controls, helping organisations overcome outdated software, security drift and inconsistent compliance without relying on manual intervention or a particular mobile device management platform.

Orchard isn't an MDM and doesn't aim to replace one. We complement existing tools by helping organisations achieve extremely high levels of patching and security compliance in areas where traditional MDM approaches struggle.

We're an early-stage company with a UK-based, fully remote team of around 10 people. We're now moving from product development and launch into our first phase of commercial growth. That's where this role comes in.

The role

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Marketing Lead to take ownership of marketing at Orchard.

You'll join at an unusually interesting point in our journey. We have a differentiated product and a clear problem to solve, but we don't have a pre-written marketing playbook for you to execute.

There are ideas, expertise and support across the business, but you'll be responsible for turning those ingredients into a coherent marketing strategy and then making it happen.

The long-term ambition is for organisations using Macs around the world to know who Orchard is, understand what makes the platform different and believe in its ability to solve problems that other approaches can't.

This isn't a role where you'll develop a strategy and hand execution to a marketing team. We don't expect you to hire or manage a team at this stage. You'll be both the person shaping our marketing approach and the person doing much of the work.

You'll report directly to our Chief Revenue Officer and work particularly closely with our CTO and Engineering Lead to develop a deep understanding of Orchard, our market and upcoming product developments.

What you'll be doing

You'll take day-to-day ownership of Orchard's marketing activities and relationships. Your remit will be broad and will evolve as we learn what works.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing Orchard's marketing plan and recommending where we should focus our time and budget.
  • Working with the CRO to agree overall marketing strategy, priorities and spend.
  • Building awareness of Orchard and communicating clearly why the platform is different.
  • Helping establish credibility and confidence in Orchard amongst the Mac Admin community and the wider IT, security and compliance audience.
  • Creating compelling content for our website, LinkedIn, email and other relevant channels.
  • Planning, creating and running email campaigns using HubSpot Marketing Hub.
  • Developing and improving our SEO activity and organic visibility.
  • Identifying relevant events and opportunities, and taking responsibility for the marketing activity around them.
  • Representing and promoting Orchard at events in the UK and overseas.
  • Building relationships with relevant communities, podcasts, partners and other organisations that can help us reach our audience.
  • Developing our presence within communities used by Mac administrators and other relevant technology professionals.
  • Supporting our channel strategy by helping build awareness and engagement with partners and MSPs who may sell Orchard.
  • Owning the marketing side of product launches, new features and important product updates.
  • Working closely with technical colleagues to turn product capabilities into clear, credible and engaging market-facing messages.
  • Coming up with new campaigns, events, partnerships and other ideas that can increase awareness and generate demand.
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our activity and using what we learn to continually improve our approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Some of our initial focus will include podcasts and community engagement, events, LinkedIn and email, but we don't expect that list to remain static. Part of your job will be helping us discover which channels and activities work best for Orchard.

What success looks like

Ultimately, we want marketing to contribute to Orchard gaining customers.

There are important steps along the way, and we'll look at a combination of measures to understand whether we're making progress. These are likely to include:

  • Free-trial sign-ups.
  • Qualified interest and inbound enquiries.
  • Website traffic and engagement.
  • Growth in awareness and engagement within our target communities.
  • Performance of campaigns, content and events.
  • Contribution to sales pipeline and customer acquisition.
  • Ultimately, growth in the number of organisations becoming paying Orchard customers.

We're realistic about how marketing works, particularly at an early-stage company. We don't expect you to arrive with a perfect plan on day one, and we don't expect every campaign or idea to succeed.

We do expect thoughtful experimentation: develop a hypothesis, try things, measure what happens, learn from it and put more energy into what works.

Who we're looking for

You'll already have meaningful marketing experience and be comfortable taking responsibility for both strategy and execution.

We're particularly interested in someone who:

  • Has strong B2B marketing experience and understands how marketing to organisations differs from consumer marketing.
  • Has previous marketing experience in SaaS, technology, cybersecurity or marketing to technical audiences.
  • Has experience delivering a range of marketing activities rather than specialising exclusively in a single channel.
  • Can take a broad commercial objective and turn it into a practical marketing plan.
  • Is equally comfortable thinking about strategy and getting into the detail to execute it.
  • Can create strong written content and communicate technical or complex ideas clearly.
  • Has experience with campaigns, content, events and digital marketing.
  • Can use data and results to judge what's working and change direction when something isn't.
  • Is proactive and brings ideas rather than waiting for a predefined list of activities.
  • Is comfortable working closely with senior leadership and technical colleagues.
  • Can operate effectively in a small, early-stage business where priorities will evolve.
  • Is willing and able to travel to events and conferences in the UK and internationally.

Experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub would be useful, but not essential.

Why Orchard?

You'll be joining at a point where your work can genuinely influence how Orchard goes to market.

We're building a product designed to address a real challenge for organisations using Macs. Orchard discovers applications on devices and helps keep them patched without IT teams having to pre-select every application. It reacts to critical security patches, supports security control alerting and incident management, and is designed to achieve very high levels of compliance without asking customers to replace their MDM.

We're also early enough that many important decisions are still ahead of us. You'll have the opportunity to shape how Orchard presents itself to the market, how we build our audience and where we invest our marketing effort.

We're a small, friendly and experienced team. We care about doing excellent work, treating people well and continually improving how we operate. We work remotely across the UK and value people who can combine professional expertise with the willingness to get involved and make things happen.

Salary & benefits

The salary for this role is £40,000- 60,000 depending on experience.

Our standard benefits include:

  • UK workplace pension with employee opt-in.
  • Private health cover.
  • Fully remote working within the UK.

If you like the idea of taking a differentiated technology product to market, building a marketing function from an early stage and having the freedom to test, learn and shape what comes next, we'd like to hear from you.
