MARKETING LEAD

Full-Time · Hybrid · London or Sydney-Based

WHO WE ARE

Salt Escapes was built on a simple observation: fitness retreats go soft, bootcamps go hard, and regular holidays stick a gym in the basement and call it done. Nobody built the week where the training, the adventure and the places are all done properly.

Since 2018, founders Amy and Mike have been running week-long escapes. Luxury private villas in Zakynthos, Ibiza, Menorca, Costa Rica, Bali, the Caribbean, the Dolomites, Sri Lanka, Africa etc. Serious coaching, off-map adventures, private chef-cooked food, extraordinary places. Guests arrive solo. They leave with a crew. 430+ five-star reviews, and most guests are already planning their next one before the taxi home.

We're growing fast. In 2023, 2024, and 2025 we have doubled the number of trips. In 2026 we're not only adding destinations, we're expanding into new formats and new audiences. The product is exceptional. The community is real. The brand is finding its sharpest voice yet. And the marketing team is being built to match.

THE ROLE

This is the role that makes everything connect. The Marketing Lead takes a launch idea from the CMO and turns it into a fully-built, tightly-executed campaign, empowering an exceptional team to deliver their best work. You own the process, the calendar, the brief, and the output.

You'll work directly with the CMO on product and launch strategy. Your job is to take that strategy and turn it into action: build the brief, stress-test the proposition, coordinate the team and make sure everything we ship is something we're proud of.

You'll play a part in expanding Salt Escapes into an internationally recognisable brand. In practice that means IRL events, alumni activation, and the kind of moments that turn guests into advocates and uber-fans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a role for someone passionate about great marketing, fitness, travel and community. Someone who can manage a lot at once, make calls without all the information, and care about the quality of what goes out under the Salt Escapes name.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

CAMPAIGNS & BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Work with the CMO and external agencies/talent to evolve the brand as we expand: positioning, go-to-market strategy, then look, feel, tone, voice.

LAUNCH PLANNING

Own every product launch from brief to go-live. Develop the creative brief, stress-test the proposition, get sign-off, then drive the team through build and post-launch review.

Make the call on whether something is ready to ship. Audit the assets, check the proposition, manage the build across copy, pages, email, social, and paid.

CAMPAIGN CALENDAR

Own the campaign calendar. What runs, when, and in what order. Keep email and social pointed in the same direction.

COMMUNITY

Build the Salt Escapes community, online and offline. Plan the IRL moments: alumni events, guest meetups, founder-hosted experiences.

Work with Lauren & Bea to keep engagement alive between trips.

DATA & REPORTING

Own the weekly performance report. Know what's working before the CMO has to ask.

MARKETING OPERATIONS

Own the tools, processes, and agency relationships. That includes Spekk, who handle paid social and search.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3 to 5+ years where you've planned and run campaigns yourself. Not just one channel.
  • DTC experience, ideally in travel, fitness, wellness, or lifestyle.
  • You think clearly and work methodically. You’ll be accustomed to building tight briefs and precise campaigns.
  • You're comfortable with data and make decisions from it.
  • You care about community. You think great brands make people feel they belong, not just that they've bought something.
  • Experience managing external agencies.
  • A strong writer. Briefs, plans, and reports the team can work from.
  • You're comfortable being resourceful. We’re a brilliant but small team.
