ABOUT LIBRA EUROPE
Libra Europe is an operational consultancy. For more than 25 years we've helped manufacturers, food producers, retailers, distributors and logistics businesses make lasting improvements to how they operate, from private equity portfolio companies to FTSE 250 groups.
We work across the whole operational chain (source, plan, make, move and sell), with change management at the heart of everything we do. What makes us different is that we implement. We're on site with client teams until the change sticks, and we measure the result.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role owns Libra's marketing. You'll get to know the business properly, find the stories in our client work and our software, and tell them in a way that gets the right people in touch. Case studies, articles, LinkedIn and HubSpot campaigns are the channels, but the stories are what we're really selling.
At the moment marketing sits with the senior team alongside their client work, so it goes quiet whenever we get busy. We want you to take it off our hands, give Libra a steady and credible voice in the market, and turn that into enquiries.
In terms of how the role is judged, it comes down to new leads. Visibility and engagement are great, but only if they turn into enquiries. At three days a week we've kept the role focused. Inbound enquiries will be handled by the rest of the team and technical website work sits with our developers, so your time goes on planning our marketing and telling our stories. You'll be the only person in the business doing this job, so you'll need to be comfortable setting your own priorities and working to them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
These are in priority order. The roadmap and the stories are where most of your week should go, so we'll protect both. If the week gets tight, the later groups flex.
Planning and the marketing roadmap
- Build and own a clear marketing roadmap that shows how everything links together and what each activity is there to achieve, from building awareness through to scoping days and new enquiries
- Present the roadmap to the senior team and the wider business, keep it up to date, and give us a short monthly update on which stories and channels are bringing in leads and what we should do more of

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Finding and telling our stories
- Get to know the business properly. Spend time with our consultants and project teams, sit in on project meetings and learn our software well enough to explain it
- Turn what you find into a steady rhythm of articles, case studies, posts and guides across LinkedIn, the website and email, giving our software as much airtime as the consulting
- Run the case study pipeline, drawing out client stories with each project lead, getting sign off and collecting testimonials
- Run the company LinkedIn page and help the directors show up well on their own profiles
Campaigns and clients
- Build campaigns, nurture emails and landing pages in HubSpot so every story has a clear route to an enquiry. That includes a monthly email to our existing clients and promoting our events and webinars
Collateral, systems and suppliers
- Keep the credentials deck, one pagers, proposal templates and website content up to date and on brand, briefing our designer and web developer on production and build work
- Keep HubSpot data and enquiry routing clean so every lead lands with the right director, and look after our suppliers and the marketing budget
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- Strong writing and a nose for a story. You can sit with a technical specialist or consultant, find the story in what they did, and write it so a busy operations director reads to the end. A background in journalism, business writing or content is just as relevant as a marketing one
- Experience owning marketing or content for a service business, such as professional services or consulting, in a small business or lean team. We don't set a minimum number of years, what matters is what your work produced
- Able to build a marketing plan that ties activity back to commercial goals, and confident presenting it to senior leaders and the wider team
- Hands on experience of HubSpot, or a similar CRM and marketing automation platform, including lists, workflows, forms, landing pages and reporting
- Practical experience of organic LinkedIn for a business and editing website content in a CMS
- Able to plan your own week, set your own priorities and be clear about what won't get done, without needing much day to day supervision
- Comfortable chasing busy senior people for what you need, and persistent about it, without having any authority over them
- Experience of managing external suppliers and working to a defined budget
- Able to show the leads your work has produced, with numbers rather than activity
Desirable
- Experience marketing a software or SaaS product alongside a service
- Familiarity with our client sectors: manufacturing, food production, retail, distribution or logistics
- Paid media experience, for example LinkedIn or Google Ads
- Working design skills in Canva, Adobe or similar, and basic short form video editing
- CIM qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working successfully in a part time senior role

PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Self-starting. Nobody's going to hand you a plan. You're comfortable being the only person doing this job and deciding where the effort goes.
- Trusted. People rely on you because you're good at what you do, you're honest and you follow through on what you said you'd do.
- Constructive challenge. You think for yourself and you're happy to question how things are done, without being difficult about it.
- Curious. You want to know how things work and why they matter, and you keep asking until you understand.
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
We'll agree specific targets with you in your first month. Ultimately we're judged on new leads, and so is this role. In the first year we'd love to see:
- A marketing roadmap agreed with the senior team in the first three months, kept current and understood across the business
- A measurable increase in new leads generated by marketing, tracked in HubSpot from first contact to handover to a director
- A steady flow of published stories, month after month rather than in bursts, and a growing library of signed off client case studies
- Growth in LinkedIn following and engagement, and visible director activity, that shows up in enquiries rather than only likes
- A monthly client email going out on schedule, with our software products visible to consulting clients
- Clean, segmented HubSpot data that sales can rely on
- Marketing spend held to the agreed budget, with a clear monthly view of what's producing leads
HOW WE WORK
- We implement, not just advise. No slide decks left behind. We're judged on whether the change sticks.
- A partner, not a vendor. We treat the client's blockers as our problem to solve, and our success is measured by their outcomes.
- Honest advice. If something isn't needed, we won't recommend it. We're early and direct with bad news.
- Results you can prove. We define what success looks like up front, baseline it, and measure it throughout.
- One team, with energy. We're delivery focused, but supportive, approachable and human. Clients should look forward to our meetings.
WORKING PATTERN, LOCATION AND TRAVEL
This is a permanent part time role, three days a week. We're open on how those days are arranged, whether that's split days, school hours or a compressed pattern, and we'll agree the shape with you before you start. If it needs to change later on either side, we'll sit down and talk it through.
We don't have a physical office, so the role is home based, with regular face to face time with the Commercial Director in Cardiff. We'll always give you notice of travel, but please make sure you're comfortable with two to four days a month before you apply.
A driving licence and access to a car would be helpful rather than essential, as event and client travel is a lot easier with one. If you don't drive, just let us know and we'll work out
