We're delighted to be partnering with a successful, fast-growing owner-managed business in the home improvements sector to recruit a Marketing Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and creative marketing professional looking to take ownership of a broad marketing function within a well-established business with exciting growth plans.
You'll be responsible for developing and delivering marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, generate customer enquiries, and support continued commercial growth. This is a true 360 marketing role, combining strategy with hands-on delivery across a range of online and offline marketing channels.
The business works with an external freelancer who manages SEO and PPC activity, so your role will be focused on overseeing the wider marketing function, creating engaging content, managing campaigns, and collaborating with the freelancer to support digital performance.
The Role
As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing marketing activity across multiple channels. You'll have the autonomy to shape marketing strategy while remaining actively involved in content creation, social media, brand development, advertising and customer engagement.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, can manage multiple projects simultaneously and is excited by the prospect of helping a growing business achieve its ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's marketing strategy in line with business objectives.
- Create engaging content for social media, websites, email campaigns, blogs, case studies and promotional materials.
- Manage and grow the company's social media presence across relevant platforms.
- Plan and maintain content calendars to support brand awareness and lead generation.
- Create and coordinate photography, video and written content showcasing products, installations and customer success stories.
- Manage website content, ensuring information remains accurate, engaging and up to date.
- Work closely with the company's freelance digital marketing specialist, supporting SEO and PPC activity through content creation, campaign planning and marketing insight.
- Coordinate press advertising, local media campaigns and PR opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local publications, industry partners and media contacts.
- Produce marketing collateral including brochures, leaflets, showroom materials, signage and sales support documents.
- Support sales activity through targeted lead generation and customer engagement campaigns.
- Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and recommend improvements.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research to identify new opportunities.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers including designers, photographers, printers and media partners.
- Organise and support exhibitions, open days, events and sponsorship activities.
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure maximum return on investment.
- Maintain a consistent and professional brand presence across all customer touchpoints.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
