Description
This is a remote role with travel to our support centre in Belper. This role will also be considered on reduced or part time hours.
We're looking for an exceptional Marketing Manager and Head of Fun. This is an amazing opportunity to build something new and influence from the ground up while working in an exciting business driven by outcomes for our Young People and colleagues. In this role you will report to Steve our CPO with a dotted line to Jill our CEO.
Our key objective at Esland is recruiting and retaining employees and this, rather than customer marketing is the key focus of this role.
The introduction of this role will be instrumental to raise the bar on how we engage and communicate with all our teams and prospective employees, with particular focus on teams within our Homes, Schools and Assessments and develop both our Company and Employer Brand.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders to improve our brand and internal communications across our Homes, Schools and Support functions, supporting the roll out of our Employee Value Proposition internally and externally keeping all our Eslanders informed and engaged on key messages regardless of their job role or where they are working.
We want clear, inspirational and timely messaging in the right tone of voice to keep all our teams connected to our brand purpose, our values and fully informed on business activities. At Esland we move at pace, so we need effective communication channels to support our teams to deliver great outcomes for our Young People.
From a recruitment perspective a key outcome of this role will be an increase in the percentage of positive reviews on Indeed, Glassdoor and Google and you will own this and find ways to encourage positive reviews and give feedback on all reviews.
In addition to the Employee Value Proposition, we require the Marketing Manager to take the lead in delivering evidence-based qualitative case studies demonstrating to our customers and stakeholders the numerous positive outcomes which we achieve for our young people alongside supporting the business development function with customer marketing in terms of new product developments, conferences, and the website.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
