We employ around 1,500 people and support several thousand more to live at home. We have seven websites, six brands and thirteen offices — and not one marketing person. That is the job. You would be the first.

What You Would Own

  • Every public-facing channel we have: the websites, all social accounts, our Google Business Profiles, our employer and review profiles. You hold the logins, set the standards and decide what goes live.
  • Recruitment marketing across every brand and branch — the strategy, channels, employer brand and creative — working alongside our recruitment team, and the cost per hire that comes out of it.
  • Local search visibility across all thirteen offices.
  • The group marketing budget, plus a project fund for commissioning technical and design work.
  • Our internal voice — how 1,500 people across six brands hear from us.

What You Would Be Working On First

  • We recruit around 450 people a year and do not currently measure what that costs us by channel.
  • Families looking for care locally struggle to find us, and when they do we do not answer the question they arrived with.
  • Commissioners fund most of what we do, and we publish almost no evidence for them.
  • Six brands' worth of websites and social accounts that need consolidating into something one person can run properly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We Are Looking For

  • You have led marketing for an organisation or a division — set the plan, not only delivered someone else's.
  • You have run recruitment marketing or employer brand, and can tell us what it changed, with numbers.
  • You have managed marketing across more than one location or brand at the same time.
  • You have handled local search and Google Business Profiles for multiple sites.
  • You can write and produce content to a standard we could publish, and have work you can show us.
  • You can get consistent work out of people who do not report to you.
  • You are comfortable in Google Analytics and Search Console, and honest enough to say when a movement is just noise.

What We Are Not Asking For

  • Not a developer.
  • Not a technical SEO specialist — we buy that work in and you would manage the supplier.
  • Not care sector experience: we can teach you the sector in a quarter, and we cannot teach multi-site marketing ownership in a quarter.
  • No particular qualification, and no set number of years.

What Comes With It

  • A budget of your own, and no marketing hierarchy above you to clear things with.
  • All travel costs met in full — mileage, rail, accommodation and subsistence.
  • Budget for CIM membership or an equivalent, and the time to use it.
  • Hybrid working — on average three days a week with the business and two from home — pension, annual leave plus bank holidays, and our Wellbeing Matters Programme.

Being straight with you

Your base is your choice — Oldham, Rochdale or Barnsley — and you are welcome to work from any of our operational sites when you are out with the business. This is a hybrid role: on average three days a week with the business and two from home, and those three days are a mix of your own base and time out at our branches and services, so no two weeks look the same. You would be the only marketing person here, so you need to prioritise hard and finish things. The first ninety days are mostly putting right what has been left. The travel is real — our branches are across Yorkshire, the North West and Essex, usually one or two days a fortnight with the occasional overnight — because the stories and photographs do not come to you. All travel is paid in full, and we will consider any reasonable adjustment that helps you do it.

How The Process Works

Apply with a CV, a link to one piece of your own work, and short answers to a few questions. If shortlisted, there is a paid ninety-minute practical task, then one panel interview. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Apply by Friday 16 October 2026.
