Marketing Manager – Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Membership Career?

Salary: Up to £48,000 + 6% employer pension contribution

Location: Bankside, London SE1 | Hybrid working – 2 or 3 days in the office

Do you already work in a membership organisation and feel ready for more ownership, responsibility and influence?

Perhaps you’re a Marketing Executive, Senior Marketing Executive, Membership Marketing Executive or similar, and you’ve built a good understanding of what makes members join, engage and stay. Now you’re looking for the opportunity to step up, take the lead on your own campaigns and develop your career at manager level.

This could be that opportunity.

We’re recruiting a Marketing Manager to join a leading professional membership organisation representing 6,500 members across England and Wales.

Working closely with the Head of Membership Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership of a broad marketing portfolio – from membership recruitment and retention to events, awards, digital marketing, sponsorship and partnerships.

It’s a varied, hands-on role where you’ll be trusted to bring ideas, make things happen and see the impact of your work.

The opportunity

This is an ideal next step for someone who understands the membership world and is ready to broaden their experience and take on more responsibility.

You don’t need to have done every element of the role before. What’s important is that you have a solid grounding in marketing, understand the importance of member engagement and are ready to step up and take ownership.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and deliver campaigns that attract new members and improve onboarding, engagement and retention.
  • Take the lead on marketing membership benefits, training, publications, conferences, events and other services.
  • Develop digital campaigns across email, web and social media.
  • Make greater use of CRM and email automation to create effective member journeys and targeted campaigns.
  • Represent the organisation at regional and external events and help introduce membership to new audiences.
  • Take ownership of a high-profile annual member awards programme, from nominations and judging through to sponsorship and the gala awards evening.
  • Build relationships with sponsors and exhibitors and help grow commercial income from conferences and events.
  • Help develop partnerships with other organisations, creating new promotional and commercial opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for brand stewardship and work with external designers to create engaging digital and print materials.
  • Grow the organisation’s presence across LinkedIn, X and Instagram.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About you

You’re likely to be working in a membership body, professional association, trade association, charity or similar organisation and looking for a role that gives you greater responsibility and the opportunity to progress.

You may already have some experience of membership marketing, events, communications, digital marketing or sponsorship – but you’re now ready to bring those skills together in a broader role.

We’d particularly like to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

  • Experience delivering successful marketing campaigns.
  • A good understanding of membership recruitment, engagement or retention.
  • Experience managing projects and working with different stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and email marketing platforms.
  • Experience using websites and social media as marketing channels.
  • Strong written communication and marketing copywriting skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and an interest in developing sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
  • The confidence to build relationships with members, colleagues and external partners.
  • A proactive approach – you enjoy taking responsibility, suggesting ideas and making things happen.

Experience of awards programmes, sponsorship, MS Dynamics CRM, ClickDimensions, WordPress or another CMS, volunteer management, Instagram, partnerships or data protection would all be useful – but we don’t expect you to tick every box.

What matters most is that you have a strong foundation, understand the membership environment and are ready for the next step.

Why make the move?

This is an opportunity to move into a genuine Marketing Manager role while still having the support of an experienced Head of Membership Marketing.

You’ll be given room to develop, take ownership and build experience across areas that can sometimes be difficult to gain in a more junior or narrowly focused membership marketing role.

You’ll join a friendly team of around 25 people with an ambitious, collaborative culture and a strong sense of purpose.

Alongside a salary of up to £48,000, you’ll receive:

  • 6% employer pension contribution
  • A generous annual leave allowance of up to 30 days
  • Additional leave over Christmas and New Year
  • Regular paid-for social events
  • Hybrid working
  • A fantastic Bankside location, close to Borough Market and the South Bank

If you’ve built your experience in the membership sector and have been waiting for the opportunity to step up, take ownership and prove what you can do at manager level, we’d love to hear from you.
