The Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the hotel's marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, increase revenue, and maximise occupancy across all market segments. The role is responsible for creating engaging marketing campaigns, managing digital channels, supporting sales activity, and ensuring brand standards are consistently maintained.

Working closely with the Commercial Director, Revenue Manager, and wider Sales Team will identify opportunities to promote the hotel, food and beverage outlets, meetings and events, weddings, and seasonal campaigns.

The role reports directly to the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and implement the hotel's annual marketing plan.
  • Create and deliver marketing campaigns that support the hotel's commercial objectives.
  • Identify new opportunities to increase revenue across bedrooms, meetings and events, food and beverage, and leisure facilities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Measure campaign performance and provide regular reports with recommendations.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage and update the hotel's website, ensuring content is accurate and up to date.
  • Plan and deliver email marketing campaigns.
  • Manage SEO and support PPC campaigns where applicable.
  • Develop engaging content for digital platforms.
  • Monitor website analytics and conversion performance.

Social Media

  • Develop and manage the hotel's social media strategy.
  • Produce engaging content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok where appropriate.
  • Create photography and video content to promote the hotel.
  • Manage the content calendar.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to customer enquiries where appropriate.
  • Track social media performance and recommend improvements.

Brand Management

  • Ensure all marketing materials comply with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain consistency across all printed and digital communications.
  • Liaise with external agencies, designers, and printers where required.
  • Support new product launches and promotional campaigns.

Public Relations

  • Build relationships with local media and community organisations.
  • Identify PR opportunities to promote the hotel.
  • Prepare press releases where appropriate.
  • Coordinate media visits and promotional events.

Sales Support

  • Work closely with the Commercial Director and Sales Team to develop promotional campaigns.
  • Produce sales collateral including brochures, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Support corporate, group, conference, and wedding business through targeted marketing activity.
  • Assist with client events, showcases, and networking opportunities.

Events & Promotions

  • Develop seasonal campaigns including Christmas, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, and summer promotions.
  • Promote food and beverage offers.
  • Support wedding fairs, exhibitions, and hotel showcases.
  • Coordinate promotional events within the hotel.

Budget Management

  • Manage the marketing budget effectively.
  • Monitor campaign expenditure.
  • Ensure maximum return on investment.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers where appropriate.

Reporting

  • Produce monthly marketing reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including:
    • Website traffic
    • Social media engagement
    • Campaign ROI
    • Lead generation
    • Direct bookings
    • Event enquiries
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

General Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador for the hotel and brand.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with guests, clients, and colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection legislation.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the General Manager.
