Can you help shape the future of a central London hotel embarking on an exciting redevelopment project?
Have you got what it takes to create standout moments in a hugely competitive marketplace? If the answer is yes, let’s talk. Being imaginative is one of our core behaviours and this role has creativity and imagination written all over it.
You’ll have an understanding of hotel operations and systems and their limitations yet you’re curious by nature. You look to stretch the boundaries. You know how to engage a hotel team, create unique ideas and take that team on the journey with you. You can influence, plan and know the things that’ll work to make a difference. Does this sound like you? Read on.
We’re looking for a marketing manager to lead the marketing for The Athenaeum Hotel in Mayfair, based in London.
About SRSL
Sir Richard Sutton Limited (SRSL) operates across hospitality, agriculture, and property management. We aim to provide excellent service and create meaningful experiences for our guests, residents, partners, and local communities. Our teams work with purpose, professionalism, and respect across all areas of the business.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to help shape the next chapter of The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, a five-star hotel in the heart of Piccadilly.
As Marketing Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day marketing activity for the hotel while playing a central role in a multi-million pound repositioning programme and relaunch. From social media, content, partnerships, and food and beverage marketing to the guest journey, PR activity, and brand development, you’ll have the scope to turn ideas into work that guests can see, experience, and share.
You’ll work closely with the hotel’s operational leadership and wider marketing team, bringing the brand to life across every touchpoint and helping build momentum towards an important new chapter for the hotel.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and develop the hotel’s marketing activity plan, food and beverage marketing plan, and social media calendar, keeping activity focused, current, and well communicated.
- Lead larger marketing activations from idea through to delivery, bringing together hotel teams, external partners, and the wider marketing function.
- Oversee social media and content activity, managing a Marketing Executive and shaping creative ideas that grow reach, engagement, and awareness.
- Direct photography and video content, including briefing photographers, preparing shoots, sourcing models, and ensuring creative work reflects the brand.
- Lead food and beverage marketing across menus, digital assets, promotions, email activity, point of sale, and partnerships, while keeping close to changing market and consumer trends.
- Act as brand custodian for the hotel, helping colleagues understand and deliver the brand consistently and developing guest touchpoints from arrival through to check-out.
- Play a hands-on role in the hotel’s repositioning, contributing to areas including artwork, signage, in-room collateral, fixtures and fittings, storytelling, launch activity, and the build-up to relaunch.
- Work closely with the General Manager, Director of Operations, Sales, and wider hotel teams, reviewing marketing performance and adapting activity to improve results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous hospitality marketing experience at Senior Marketing Executive or junior Marketing Manager level, ideally within a central London or five-star hotel environment.
- A strong writer who enjoys creating content and can adapt their style confidently to a defined tone of voice.
- A creative mindset and the ability to turn ideas into practical, well-planned campaigns and experiences.
- A strong eye for photography, video, and high-quality content. Editing skills would be useful, but aren’t essential.
- Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate events, briefs, campaigns, and multiple priorities.
- A confident communicator who can build strong relationships, present ideas clearly, and influence senior operational colleagues.
- The ability to use performance data to understand what’s working and make informed decisions about future activity.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn. Experience of hospitality technology, content management systems, or customer relationship management and email marketing platforms would be useful, but we can help you build this knowledge.
