Role Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Marketing Manager to lead their marketing function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will shape the brand strategy, drive awareness and demand across both trade and retail markets, manage a team of two, and contribute to key commercial decisions.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a balance of strategic thinking and practical delivery. The ideal candidate will be a confident user of AI, applying it to market research, insight generation, and content creation to deliver commercially effective, brand-consistent marketing.

Package

  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm FULLY OFFICE BASED
  • Pension: Company pension scheme
  • Salary: up to £60,000 (DOE)
  • Bonuses: Opportunity to earn two discretionary bonuses annually, based on company profit
  • Holiday: 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy: Lead brand strategy, annual marketing plans, and integrated campaigns across trade and consumer channels to support business growth.
  • Reporting: Present marketing performance, insights, and recommendations to the MD and senior leadership team.
  • Market Research: Use AI-powered research and analytics tools including Perplexity Enterprise, Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Statista, Qualtrics, and GA4 to identify market trends, customer behaviour, competitor activity, and growth opportunities.
  • Customer Insights: Apply customer insights and predictive analytics to shape commercial strategy and audience development.
  • Content Creation: Deliver AI-enabled content creation using Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, DALL-E 3, and Runway ML, ensuring brand consistency, IP/licensing compliance, and effective governance.
  • AI Workflows: Create AI workflows, prompt libraries, and templates using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Jasper, and (url removed) to improve marketing efficiency.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage digital marketing activity across website, SEO, paid search, email, social media, and e-commerce, using analytics and CRO to optimise performance.
  • SEO and GEO: Lead content, SEO, and GEO strategies across product pages, case studies, technical content, and Knowledge Hub resources.
  • Marketing Platforms: Manage marketing platforms including GA4, SEMrush/Ahrefs, HubSpot, Klaviyo, and Clearscope.
  • Campaigns: Deliver product launches, trade promotions, seasonal campaigns, and exhibition activity including FIT Show and Fensterbau.
  • Agency Management: Manage agencies, suppliers, marketing collateral, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Leadership: Lead and develop the marketing team while collaborating with Sales, Estimating, and Product teams to deliver commercially focused activity.
  • Experience: Minimum five years' marketing management experience, ideally within a B2B or trade-focused environment (ideally building products, joinery, construction or specialist hardware), with clear progression in responsibility.
  • Qualifications: Relevant marketing qualification - CIM Chartered Marketer, degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • AI Experience: Proven hands-on experience using generative AI tools in a commercial environment, with AI embedded in day-to-day marketing activities.
  • Prompt Engineering: Strong prompt engineering skills, with the ability to develop, refine and document prompts for LLMs and image generation tools to produce consistent, on-brand content.
  • Design Tools: Practical experience with AI-powered design tools, including Midjourney for ideation and Adobe Firefly and/or Canva AI for commercial content creation.
  • IP and Governance: Good understanding of the intellectual property, licensing and brand governance considerations surrounding AI-generated content.
  • Market Research: Experience using AI-driven market research and brand intelligence platforms such as Brandwatch, Perplexity, or equivalent.
  • SEO: Knowledge of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), with an understanding of how to optimise content for AI-powered search as well as traditional search engines.
  • Digital Marketing: Strong digital marketing expertise across SEO, PPC, email marketing, social media, GA4 analytics and CMS management.
  • Team Management: Experience leading, managing and developing a small marketing team.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present marketing strategies and AI-driven insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
