Company Description
Ten miles outside Oxford, on the site of an eighteenth-century farm, the Oxford School of Drama trains actors for careers across theatre, film and television.
We are one of the UK’s leading drama conservatoires, offering a Three Year Course, a One Year MA and a Foundation Course in Acting. We produce work both at our Oxfordshire home and in venues across Oxford and London, tour schools across the region, and take Shakespeare into outdoor spaces each summer.
Our alumni include Nicola Coughlan, Aimee Lou Wood, Claire Foy, Richard Gadd, Babou Ceesay and Tanya Reynolds, alongside many other actors working across theatre, film and television.
We’re a small team, so this is a role with plenty of variety and genuine scope to shape how OSD presents itself to the world.
Role Description
This is a senior, hands-on marketing role with responsibility for leading OSD’s marketing and communications strategy across digital, print, social media, email and paid channels. You’ll play a key role in growing awareness of our training, attracting prospective students, increasing audiences for our productions and celebrating the work of our alumni.
As Marketing Manager, you’ll own and lead OSD’s marketing and communications strategy, with a particular focus on digital. You’ll:
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns to grow applications, engagement, audience reach and ticket sales.
- Manage and develop OSD’s website, social media channels and e-newsletters.
- Lead audience-development and ticket-sales campaigns for productions in Oxford and London.
- Manage and support our freelance Social Media Manager, providing priorities and creative direction.
- Manage OSD’s partnership with AKTA.
- Manage relationships with external creative suppliers, including our freelance graphic designer.
- Lead the creation and production of print materials including prospectuses, brochures, flyers, posters and production programmes.
- Maintain OSD’s brand, tone of voice and messaging across all channels.
- Work directly with students to support their professional presentation to the industry, including advising on biographies, headshots and other industry-facing materials.
- Monitor marketing performance and use data and insight to inform future campaigns and strategy.
- Respond to enquiries from prospective students, audiences and other members of the public.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
