What could you achieve with an established brand, an exceptional client base and the freedom to turn your ideas into action?
I’m working exclusively with a highly respected commercial solar PV specialist that has been operating since 2008.
Despite having a close-knit team of around 20–25 people, they have generated more than £15 million in turnover last year. The business delivers commercial and industrial solar projects ranging from 50kW to 5MW for major organisations including Sainsbury’s, Mars and Walkers.
Much of that success has been achieved through reputation, repeat business and long-standing client relationships, without the support of a particularly sophisticated marketing function. That is where this opportunity comes in.
The role
The business is looking for an experienced Marketing Manager who can take a helicopter view, identify untapped opportunities and build a more structured approach to growth.
This is not simply a campaign-management or social-media role. The Directors want someone who can help answer the bigger questions:
- Where are the opportunities the business is not currently maximising?
- How can they strengthen their presence within the C&I energy market?
- How can its reputation, expertise and project successes be used more effectively?
- Which campaigns, partnerships and channels will generate meaningful commercial results?
You will take ownership from concept through to delivery, developing the strategy, putting it into action and measuring its impact.
Your remit will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Developing and delivering a clear B2B marketing strategy.
- Identifying opportunities within the commercial and industrial energy market.
- Creating campaigns that generate credible leads and commercial pipeline.
- Strengthening their positioning and visibility across its target sectors.
- Developing strategic partnerships and routes to market.
- Managing marketing budgets and monitoring performance and ROI.
- Turning successful projects, client relationships and technical expertise into compelling marketing content.
- Working directly with the owners to support the company’s wider growth plans.
The opportunity
The business is wholly owned by its two Directors, who have retained the agility and entrepreneurial mindset of the business as it has grown. Decisions are made quickly, bureaucracy is minimal and people are trusted to take ownership. The Directors are not looking to micromanage this appointment, they want to recruit an experienced marketer, trust their judgement and give them the backing to deliver.
You will have:
- Direct access to the business owners.
- Genuine influence over marketing and growth strategy.
- The autonomy to introduce ideas and follow them through.
- A successful and respected platform from which to build.
- The visibility to see the commercial impact of your work.
- The opportunity to shape how the business is positioned over the coming years.
The culture is collaborative and supportive, with excellent staff retention and a strong commitment to employee development. A discretionary bonus has been paid every year for the past decade, with every employee receiving the same amount regardless of seniority reflecting the owners’ belief that success is a collective effort.

About you
This opportunity is likely to suit an experienced B2B marketer who:
- Combines strategic thinking with the ability to execute.
- Has generated measurable leads, pipeline or revenue through marketing.
- Can take ownership of campaigns from initial idea to final delivery.
- Understands how to market a technical, service-led or solutions-based proposition.
- Is commercially minded and confident managing budgets and performance.
- Can work independently while collaborating closely with senior leaders.
- Wants greater ownership, visibility and influence than may be available within a larger organisation.
Experience within renewable energy would be useful, but strong B2B marketing experience within energy, construction, engineering, manufacturing or another technical sector could be equally relevant.
This isn’t a role where you will be expected to repair a struggling brand. You will inherit a successful business with an excellent reputation, major clients and a strong commercial foundation and be trusted to help take it to the next level.
