I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience working across international events, gaming, technology or another fast-moving B2B market would be particularly valuable. Direct gaming-sector experience is welcomed but is not essential.
The ideal profile
This role would suit a well-rounded event marketer who enjoys the variety of a broad marketing position but naturally takes a data-led approach.
You will be equally comfortable writing an engaging event launch email, building a segmented campaign, reviewing registration performance, improving a conversion journey and collaborating with colleagues on the next stage of the campaign.
You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you should be confident using marketing technology and interested in how automation, integrations and better use of data can improve results.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and collaborative events business with a growing international portfolio in the gaming sector.
You will have ownership of your campaigns, the freedom to introduce new ideas and the opportunity to help strengthen how the business uses data and technology across its marketing activity.
The role offers a salary of up to £45,000 plus bonus.
If you are a well-rounded B2B event marketer who combines creativity with commercial thinking and strong digital capability, we would be keen to hear from you.
