At HICA, we don't just provide care – we create communities where people can live well, feel valued and remain connected. We are looking for an experienced and creative Marketing Manager to lead our marketing, communications and brand development activities across our care homes, homecare services, assisted living schemes and commercial services.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how HICA is seen by prospective residents, service users, families, employees and local communities. You'll play a key role in supporting occupancy growth, strengthening recruitment campaigns, improving customer engagement and promoting the excellent work taking place across our organisation every day.
In this newly created role, designed to help drive our business forward, you will be based at the beautiful Hesslewood estate near the Humber Bridge and lead a small team. You will work cross functionally with HR, Operations, and Business Development colleagues and spend time in our services to understand what you are marketing and to collaborate on new ideas.
The role:
As Marketing Manager, you'll:
- Lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications strategies that support business growth and recruitment objectives.
- Manage HICA's brand identity, ensuring all marketing activity reflects our values and commitment to high-quality care.
- Drive occupancy growth and homecare package growth through targeted campaigns and market insights.
- Manage and enhance HICA's websites, digital channels and social media presence.
- Develop engaging content, campaigns and promotional materials across multiple platforms.
- Support the customer journey by helping improve enquiry handling, conversions and customer experience.
- Lead recruitment marketing initiatives designed to attract and retain talented people.
- Promote HICA's learning and development services and support commercial income opportunities.
- Build relationships with local communities, professional networks and external stakeholders.
- Analyse marketing performance, campaign effectiveness and return on investment to continuously improve outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
