I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For
- In-house restaurant marketing experience is essential. You’ll have worked inside a restaurant or hospitality group — not just in agency or brand-side roles — and you’ll understand the rhythms, pace and commercial realities that come with it
- A proven track record of creating and delivering marketing strategy — not just executing someone else’s plan, but building one from scratch and seeing it through
- Strong creative instincts — you can spot a good story, you know how to tell it, and you care deeply about quality
- Commercially sharp, with a clear understanding of how marketing connects to covers, bookings and revenue
- Comfortable working across multiple brands with different personalities, keeping each distinct while building a coherent group identity
- A confident collaborator — equally at home with chefs, GMs, beverage managers, and senior leadership
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed — energised by being the first marketing hire in a growing group
- A genuine love of food and drink — the kind of person who finds the menu as interesting as the brief
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Creative Direction
- Build and own the marketing strategy for ALTA, Moi and the Listening Room, & L@E'to with a clear commercial focus on what drives covers, bookings and revenue
- Lead the creative implementation of that strategy: campaigns, content, press, events and partnerships — making things happen, not just planning them
- Help define whether the Listening Room warrants its own standalone brand identity — and lead that work if it does
Collaboration
- Work alongside the Head of Restaurants to align marketing with operational and commercial priorities across the group
- Partner with the Sales Manager on commercial and events opportunities
- Work with the Social Media Manager to ensure creative consistency and strategic direction across all channels
- Collaborate directly with Head Chefs and Beverage Managers to translate culinary and drinks creativity into compelling audience-facing stories
