Marketing Manager
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: £38,000–£44,000 per annum, depending on experience

About Arktis
Arktis is a British manufacturer of specialist clothing and equipment, established in 1985. Our products are designed for people who rely on their equipment in demanding environments, from military and law enforcement to emergency services, outdoor professionals and enthusiasts.
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead our marketing activity and support the continued growth of the Arktis brand in the UK and international markets.
This is a broad, commercially focused role covering marketing planning, product launches, promotions, sales support, international communications, events, content, digital marketing, and team leadership.
The Role
You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating marketing activity across the business, working closely with Sales, International Sales, Design, Production, and other teams.
A key part of the role will be providing Sales teams and commercial partners with the marketing materials, communications, campaigns, and product information they need to represent Arktis effectively.
You'll also oversee product launches, promotions, tradeshows, events, content creation, and digital marketing, while managing external agencies and developing the Marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Sales Support
- Develop and manage the annual marketing plan across UK and international markets.
- Align marketing activity with business objectives and sales priorities.
- Work closely with Sales and International Sales to understand commercial requirements.
- Develop sales presentations, product information, brochures, line sheets, and other marketing collateral.
- Create communications and promotional materials for Sales teams, distributors, and commercial partners.
- Support customer acquisition, retention, and sales growth through targeted marketing activity.
Product Launches & Promotions
- Develop marketing and launch plans for new products and ranges.
- Plan and execute retail and trade promotions.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, and Production to deliver launches and promotional activity.
- Develop launch communications, campaign assets, and supporting materials.
- Ensure Sales teams and partners are fully briefed ahead of launches.
- Review campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
International Marketing
- Support International Sales with marketing activity across overseas markets.
- Develop communications and marketing materials for international customers and distributors.
- Provide partners with relevant product, promotional, and brand assets.
- Coordinate international launches and campaigns while maintaining consistent brand guidelines.

Tradeshows & Events
- Manage the planning, booking, and logistics for Arktis tradeshows and events.
- Develop an annual events plan aligned with Sales and business priorities.
- Coordinate Sales, Design, and Production to ensure products, displays, and materials are delivered on time.
- Manage event suppliers and organisers.
- Support the Marketing and Sales teams at events and exhibitions.
- Review event performance and identify improvements for future activity.
Content & Creative
- Oversee creative content for product launches, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
- Brief and manage photographers, videographers, influencers, and other third-party creators.
- Ensure content accurately represents Arktis products and their applications.
- Work with the Content Creator and wider Marketing team to maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Coordinate photography, video, graphics, and other marketing assets.
Digital Marketing
- Manage paid advertising activity with our third-party PPC agency.
- Oversee SEO and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage email marketing campaigns and develop email automations.
- Monitor campaign performance and continually improve digital activity.
- Ensure digital marketing supports wider commercial and marketing objectives.
Websites & Brand
- Oversee the Arktis retail and corporate websites.
- Ensure product, company, and marketing information is accurate and professionally presented.
- Coordinate website updates supporting launches, promotions, and campaigns.
- Maintain consistency of the Arktis brand across marketing and sales materials.
- Oversee the ordering, production, and distribution of marketing materials.
- Manage relationships with relevant marketing and print suppliers.
Team Leadership
- Lead, support, and develop the Marketing team.
- Set priorities, objectives, and deadlines.
- Support recruitment, training, and development.
- Provide direction, coaching, and constructive feedback.
- Allocate work across the team and external partners.
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
Cross-Functional Working
- Build strong relationships with Sales, International Sales, Design, and Production.
- Ensure marketing activity aligns with product availability, sales priorities, and production schedules.
- Coordinate marketing requirements across departments.
- Communicate plans, deadlines, and deliverables clearly across the business.

About You
We're looking for an experienced marketing professional who combines commercial awareness, creativity, and excellent organisational skills.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in a Marketing Manager or similar role.
- Experience developing and delivering marketing plans and campaigns.
- Experience creating marketing materials and sales collateral.
- Experience supporting product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Experience planning and delivering tradeshows and events.
- Experience managing external agencies, suppliers, and creative partners.
- Good knowledge of digital marketing, including PPC, SEO, and email.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Experience in outdoor or sporting products, specialist clothing or equipment, military/defence/law enforcement, retail and trade, wholesale/distribution, or events and exhibitions would be advantageous.
