This is a unique marketing role within the UK business that involves working closely with, and serving as the main point of contact for, the BEAR global marketing team, while also having direct responsibility for all elements of the marketing mix for Peter's Yard Crackers.

Key focus areas of the role itself and where you will spend the majority of your time:

BEAR:

  • Be the main point of contact between the global team and UK sales team, ensuring to keep the UK market requirements front and centre when in development and challenging the global teams where appropriate.
  • Develop an annual plan in collaboration with sales that addresses our key issues and builds our KPIs for growth.
  • Keep consumer insight at the heart of brand strategy whilst also applying a commercial lens.
  • Continually analyze portfolio performance and keep the brand proposition ahead of the competition, ensuring the optimum range on the shelf in channel, including formats and sub ranges.
  • Execute EPD and NPD with excellence, through from sell-ins to activating on social and with influencers. Driving both visibility and talkability to ultimately drive penetration and conversion.
  • Work in collaboration with the global team on the optimum execution of our digital first strategy (paid media) and instore activation with clear evaluation and the ability to recommend how to build upon the plan.
  • Manage our digital and social brand presence delivering relevancy and meaningfulness to our consumers.
  • The ability to define and build a ‘community’ that is executed with excellence locally, whether that be events, partnerships, collaborations.
  • Manage the marketing budget and its reporting to ensure the team is always spending efficiently.
  • Responsibility for 2 direct reports at Brand Manager level who will drive execution of the strategic plan.

PETERS YARD

Peter’s Yard is a UK focussed brand where ownership sits within the UK.

Peter’s Yard is a growing sourdough bakery business that combines Swedish tradition with British craft and natural, quality ingredients to create its hand-baked sourdough crackers. The company was founded in 2008, acquired in 2022 by Lotus Bakeries and is now listed in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Ocado, Booths, Wholefoods, and 3,000 independent farm shops and delis. The company has ambitious growth plans to expand the business and build the brand in the UK.

As such you also will be responsible for the following:

  • Own the end-to-end marketing mix, leading products from insight and concept development through to packaging, launch execution, and integrated campaigns that build awareness, drive trial, and deliver growth.

Managing Director – BEAR Snacks and Peter’s Yard Crackers

You are an energetic and experienced Marketing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by the opportunity to make a real commercial impact. You will take ownership of the BEAR and Peter’s Yard brands in the UK, driving strategic growth, leading best-in-class execution, and influencing stakeholders across the business and with external partners.

Ideally, you will be a BEAR or Peter’s Yard fan, with a genuine passion for food, healthy lifestyles, and consumer trends. Highly organized and proactive, you are ready to take the next step in your career and play a key role in shaping the next phase of growth for a dynamic and ambitious business.

  • To be commercially savvy, know what good looks like, and instill best practice in everything that we do.
  • Experience owning and delivering brand growth within competitive FMCG or consumer markets.
  • Enjoy having autonomy and being accountable for building the brand.
  • Passion for brands, consumer trends, food, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Attention to detail, being 110% over all formatting. Being accountable for delivering best in class presentations and communication on the brand, both internally and externally.
  • Understanding of the retailer landscape.
  • A positive can-do attitude that seeks out solutions and looks at how we can do things differently.
  • Experience collaborating with a Global team on brand projects to ensure consistency and effective brand building activities across markets.
  • Have experience in bringing products to market using every element of the marketing mix, including positioning, pricing, packaging, promotion, and launch execution.
  • Excellent strategic thinker with a desire to create an impact.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders with confidence.
  • Strong understanding of media planning ATL/BTL and management of agencies to ensure strength in the communication plan.
  • Enjoys collaboration and enjoys building relationships across departments and with agencies, proactive team player who contributes to a strong and collaborative culture.

Other key requirements:

  • Right-To-Work within the UK (without sponsorship).
  • To be degree educated with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant marketing experience.
