Marketing Manager | Scientific & Engineering Technology
Oxfordshire | Onsite | Up to £60,000 DOE | Early Friday Finish
We’re working with a specialist business operating within the scientific and engineering technology sector, looking for a Marketing Manager to join its team.
This is a hands-on role within a highly technical environment, suited to someone who enjoys getting underneath complex products and understanding how they can be positioned effectively in the market.
The business works internationally across scientific, research, and industrial markets, so we’re particularly interested in people who have experience marketing technical products and working closely with engineering, scientific, or product teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of marketing activity across both strategy and hands-on delivery. You’ll be:
- Developing and delivering short and longer-term marketing plans.
- Planning and delivering product launches.
- Creating technical marketing content, including white papers, application notes, guides, and product material.
- Working closely with engineers and technical specialists to understand products and applications.
- Turning complex technical information into clear commercial messaging.
- Managing website content, SEO, and user experience.
- Delivering digital campaigns, newsletters, and lead generation activity.
- Planning and delivering exhibitions and conferences.
- Supporting sales teams with product information and marketing collateral.
- Developing customer case studies and testimonials.
- Conducting competitor and market analysis.
- Reviewing marketing performance, KPIs, and ROI.
- Managing marketing budgets.
- Managing and mentoring another member of the marketing team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You’ll ideally have experience within technical marketing, product marketing, or a closely related role within an engineering, scientific, or technical environment.
Product launch experience will be particularly important. We’re looking for someone who has been involved in taking technical products to market, rather than purely delivering general marketing campaigns.
You’ll also need to be comfortable working with technical people, asking the right questions, and translating complex information into marketing that customers can understand.
Your background could include:
- Scientific or technical products.
- Engineering or manufacturing.
- Scientific instrumentation.
- Physics or other science-led technology.
- Electronics.
- Measurement or analytical equipment.
- Laboratory equipment.
- Other complex physical technology products
You’ll ideally also have experience across areas such as website and CMS management, SEO, digital marketing, CRM, exhibitions, marketing budgets, and technical content.
Experience managing or mentoring someone within marketing would also be useful.
Useful Experience
You don’t need to match every point.
Experience with some of the following would be useful:
- Product marketing and go-to-market strategy.
- International markets.
- Technical content creation.
- Sales enablement.
- Competitor and market analysis.
- Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Working directly with engineers, scientists, or technical specialists.

The Environment
This is a specialist technical business where marketing works closely with both commercial and technical teams.
It should suit someone who wants to understand what they’re marketing, get close to the products, and have genuine ownership over how those products are positioned and taken to market.
There’s a good balance between strategic responsibility and remaining hands-on with delivery.
Package & Working Pattern
- Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE + company bonus
- Location: Oxfordshire
- Working Pattern: Onsite
The wider package includes private healthcare, pension, annual leave that increases with service, and flexibility around working hours.
There’s also an early finish every Friday, giving you a slightly longer weekend each week.
Interested?
If you’re a Marketing Manager or Product Marketing professional with experience working with technical products, we’d be keen to hear from you.
You don’t need experience within the exact technology already. What matters is experience within a technical, scientific, or engineering environment, strong product marketing ability, and evidence of successfully taking products to market.
