Marketing Manager | Scientific & Engineering Technology

Oxfordshire | £45,000 to £55,000 + bonus

Are you a Marketing Manager who enjoys getting under the skin of complex products and turning technical ideas into marketing that people actually understand?

Perhaps you are already working in engineering, scientific instrumentation, advanced technology or another technical environment and want a role where you can have far more ownership. We are working with a successful Oxfordshire based technology business that designs and manufactures highly specialised equipment for customers across international scientific, research and industrial markets.

They are now looking for a Marketing Manager to take ownership of their marketing activity and help shape the next stage of the company's growth. This is a broad role with plenty of autonomy. You will work closely with senior commercial leadership, own marketing plans and budgets, manage a Marketing Executive and have a genuine influence over how the business positions itself globally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will lead activity across digital marketing, technical content, product marketing, brand, website, SEO, email campaigns, social media and international exhibitions. A particularly interesting part of the role will be working alongside engineers and technical specialists, taking complex products and concepts and turning them into clear, commercially engaging content.

You could be producing technical guides and thought leadership one week, planning an international exhibition or product campaign the next, then analysing campaign performance and presenting marketing results back to senior leadership.

What are they looking for? You will ideally have experience within technical marketing, product marketing or possibly technical sales, gained in an engineering, scientific or similarly complex technology environment. You do not need to be an engineer or scientist, but you should be comfortable speaking with highly technical people, asking the right questions and translating technical information for different audiences.

Experience with websites, CMS and CRM platforms, digital campaigns and creative tools would be useful. They are also looking for someone who can demonstrate strong project management, commercial awareness and experience taking ownership of budgets. Previous leadership or mentoring experience would be particularly valuable.

Why this role? This is a chance to take on a proper Marketing Manager position rather than simply inherit a list of campaigns to deliver.

You will have ownership, visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence marketing strategy within a fascinating technical business selling internationally.

£45,000 to £55,000 plus a company bonus, private healthcare, enhanced pension arrangements, flexible working hours, early Friday finish, annual leave that increases with service.

If you enjoy technical products but want the freedom to be creative, commercial and strategic, this could be a really interesting next move. Apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
