The Company

A growth-oriented and market-focused events business based in Hertfordshire that produces two in-person events a year.

The Role

We are seeking a self-starter that, with training from our current Marketing Manager, can slot into a small company and focus on the marketing of our industry-specific events. For the right candidate, this role will enable them to grow their skillset and be part of a team that is becoming globally recognised for producing world-class, global events with unique appeal.

Responsibilities

Website, social media, branding, and digital marketing/communications

  • Brand building and awareness of two in-person events by creating and facilitating digital content for online media platforms, including podcasts, video interviews, app features, etc.
  • Developing the digital marketing strategy and implementing this across the event websites, emails, social media, contra and paid-for digital plans.
  • Originating content for and monitoring LinkedIn and Instagram channels (in coordination with event Directors).
  • Steering paid-for LinkedIn ad and Google ad campaigns with the requisite tracking codes to assess success.
  • Compiling and distributing analytics and reporting of event and social media post engagements.
  • Creating visual assets for use across a range of event media, including sales and event brochures using tools such as Canva and the Adobe suite. This includes light editing of video media.
  • Collaborating with in-house graphic designer on maintaining brand guidelines across multiple media.

Events-focused activities

  • Preparing email campaigns to attract attendees, sponsors, and speakers using group segmentation and dynamic content where possible for two in-person events.
  • Liaising with event platform providers on functionality, management, and use of the event website (specific training to be provided).
  • Ensuring the website content is aligned with established branding guidelines and reflects the latest speaker, exhibitor, and sponsor information.
  • Gathering marketing materials from sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers.
  • Leading on-site marketing activities with photography/videography teams, as well as lead sponsors and VIPs.
  • As part of a tight-knit team, coming up with ideas of how we meet KPIs for our newest event, The AI Mine.

Client database

  • Maintaining client database – ensuring client contact information is relevant, correct, and up to date.
  • Liaising with Event Systems Digital Lead to align contact segmentation and attendee tracking requirements.
  • Organising email campaigns and LinkedIn outreach to database.
  • Audience expansion – looking into competitive and other related events for ideas on how to engage existing attendees and attract new ones, plus interrogating existing databases for potential sponsor and attendee leads.

Miscellaneous

  • General marketing administration.
  • Supporting the Event Director, Managing Director, and Executive Director with the organisation and production of events where necessary.

Knowledge, skills, requirements, and experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Creative and organised, with a willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience working in conferences (in-person and hybrid) will be a plus, as would familiarity with marketing platforms such as Marketo, Active Campaign, or Salesforce.
  • Awareness of event management and ticketing platforms such as ExpoPlatform, Cvent, Eventbrite, Eventcube, or others would be a bonus.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work on tasks on their own, while being a collaborative team player.
  • Calm and flexible; able to work in a busy environment with tight deadlines.
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office and Adobe suite is preferred.
  • Must be IT proficient.
  • Previous experience of working on social media platforms professionally and creative applications such as Photoshop, Canva, Creative Cloud, IG, etc would be a plus.

Terms

  • Working hours are 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday, with some online calls scheduled outside of these hours.
  • Hybrid working offered as an option.
  • On-site event travel will be required for the two events we produce.
  • Standard 20 days holiday per calendar year (excluding bank holidays).
  • Job type: Full-time, maternity cover.
