Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)

Contract Type: Part-Time (Maternity Cover) 20 hours per week

Multipipe is a family run business with over 20 years of experience and based in Stow Maries, Chelmsford.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Marketing Manager to join our team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave. You will be responsible for executing our business strategy through developing and executing an annual marketing plan. You will build awareness in our target markets and execute lead generation activity across our digital and physical marketing channels.

You will have experience with CRM and email platforms, design software and websites. This role requires a 'hands-on' manager who is equally comfortable utilising our CRM (Salesforce) to optimise lead flow as they are designing a new brochure in Adobe InDesign or crafting our next email campaign in Mailchimp. You will serve as the primary point of contact for our website, taking ownership of day-to-day updates in WooCommerce while working closely with our external digital agency to drive long-term site efficiency and development.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Plan Execution & Brand Management

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Execute Multipipe’s Go To Marketing Plan. Responsible for identifying new market opportunities and developing our existing target markets to reflect the evolution of the market.
  • Brand Awareness and Consideration: Develop and execute brand building activity, including Multipipe’s Trusted Installer Network and the 2027 exhibition schedule. Build opportunities with media providers to promote Multipipe’s premium proposition.
  • Return On Marketing Investment / Budget Management: Own the marketing budget, ensuring all activities remain within allocated parameters. Responsible for tracking spend, forecasting costs for campaigns and events, and delivering a monthly report to the leadership team that demonstrates return on investment for leads and sales generated by channel.
  • Brand Stewardship: Ensure all communications and collateral adhere to brand guidelines, managing the technical datasheets and marketing assets.
  • PR & Content: Put in place a content plan and execute. Drive PR initiatives and manage the production of high-quality case studies. Award entries.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify content opportunities. Seek feedback to identify client needs, preferences, and trends.

Campaign & Channel Management

  • Lead Generation Campaigns: Seasonal, channel and product launches. Planning, concepts, delivery and reporting. Develop the ‘Trusted Installer Network’.
  • Event Coordination: Oversee the exhibition and trade show schedule, coordinate logistics, equipment, and pre-show promotional campaigns. Plan, liaise and manage relationships with media partners and agencies. Follow up campaigns and lead tracking.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage regular email marketing via Mailchimp and oversee the content calendar for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • SEO & Content: Oversee technical SEO and website optimisation, liaising with agency. Generate original thought leadership content that provides the target market with actionable information and builds reputation and drives effective SEO performance and generates PR opportunities.
  • Lifecycle Campaigns: Ensure customer journeys for onboarding, retention, upsell/cross‑sell initiatives are in place. Execute CRM-based campaigns to do this and optimise the loyalty programme through cross sales and up sales. Drive advocacy and re-activation amongst clients.
  • Sales Support: Develop collateral, pitch decks, as required in liaison with the sales team. Manage the creation of the 2027 Price Book and ensure all collateral is stocked and up to date.

Operational Excellence

  • Website: Develop and optimise the Multipipe website to ensure strong performance in AIO and SEO. Implement an ongoing written and video content plan. Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to ensure the e-commerce website runs efficiently, and upload new product and content regularly, including reviews and testimonials. With external partners ensure the site’s technical health, security, and performance is optimal.
  • Training Academy: Promote and grow our highly successful Training Academy. Manage Eventbrite for our underfloor heating training courses, tracking bookings, creating promotional codes and tracking links, and sharing financial information with the accounts team.
  • CRM & Reporting: Monitor daily lead flow and tasks, update the campaigns, and generate monthly marketing performance reports.

Role Personal Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Either a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field such as business studies or
  • Alternatively, a proven track record of at least 5 years hand on experience working in marketing.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in a B2B or trade-focused marketing role (ideally plumbing, heating, construction),
  • Proven experience and knowledge of marketing planning and activity management across multiple channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-orientated with a focus on delivering high-quality work. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to manage marketing budgets, track expenditures, and provide clear, accurate monthly financial reporting.
  • Experience in digital marketing tools and platforms:
    • social media management tools (Buffer, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
    • email marketing software (e.g. Mailchimp),
    • content management systems (e.g. Word Press and WooCommerce).
    • graphic design software (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Canva)
    • event management (e.g. Eventbrite)
  • Experience working with a CRM platform (ideally Sales Force) to manage lead lifecycles, campaign tracking, and generating performance reports.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
