Job Description

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Marketing, you will be responsible for turning business priorities into clear, engaging and measurable marketing activity.

You will develop strong relationships with leading organisations across sport and education, identifying opportunities for joint campaigns, useful content, events and initiatives that genuinely support schools. Partnerships are a vital part of our business and will play an important role in helping us grow, strengthen our offer and deliver greater value to schools.

You will create and manage an annual marketing plan built around the academic year, school purchasing patterns, product launches and wider business priorities.

You will work closely with the Marketing Executive, helping to shape and develop our marketing activity while collaborating with our Commercial, Sales, Customer Service and Design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver an annual marketing plan aligned with company objectives and the school calendar.
  • Plan and manage targeted campaigns across email, website, social media, catalogues and print.
  • Develop marketing activity that attracts new schools, strengthens existing customer relationships and encourages repeat purchases.
  • Build strong relationships with partners across education and school sport, identifying opportunities for joint campaigns, resources, content and events.
  • Lead the marketing of My School Rewards, ensuring its benefits are communicated clearly and consistently.
  • Develop relevant and useful content for teachers, schools, trusts and other education professionals.
  • Plan and deliver our presence at exhibitions and conferences.
  • Use customer insight and campaign results to measure performance, identify improvements and shape future activity.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify new opportunities and audiences.
  • Manage internal budgets for marketing activity and events, ensuring spending is planned, monitored and used effectively.
  • Maintain a consistent brand, tone of voice and high standard across all customer communications.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to life while keeping plans, deadlines and budgets firmly on track.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in a Marketing Manager or similar marketing role.
  • Experience planning and delivering successful multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Excellent planning, project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience developing external partnerships and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • The confidence to work across departments and turn commercial priorities into effective marketing activity.
  • A good understanding of customer segmentation, digital marketing and the customer journey.
  • An analytical approach, with the ability to use performance data to make informed decisions.
  • Experience managing or developing another member of a marketing team.
  • A creative, proactive mindset and a willingness to test new ideas.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in, or closely with, schools, education or school sport would be a real advantage. An understanding of the challenges schools face, how they plan and purchase, and what teachers need from their suppliers would help you make an immediate impact in the role.
