The Opportunity
An established and growing project-led business is looking to appoint a Marketing Manager to take ownership of its marketing and communications activity. The role will be primarily office based from their site in the North East of England.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in shaping how the business presents itself internally and externally, helping to strengthen brand awareness, support commercial growth and improve communication across the organisation.

You'll be responsible for developing marketing initiatives, creating engaging content, managing digital channels, supporting business development activity and ensuring a consistent brand presence across the business. You'll take ownership of the wider marketing function, providing direction and support to a junior marketing colleague while working closely with specialist external partners to deliver high-quality marketing and communications activity.
The organisation operates in a highly technical environment, delivering complex projects across varied b2b sectors. You'll work closely with operational teams to turn technical expertise and project achievements into compelling stories and marketing content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
