With a 110-year history, the WI is proud to be able to say that it continues to be the largest and most influential UK women’s organisation, with over 170,000 members. The organisation’s campaigns push for change on the issues that matter to women and their communities, from equal pay to climate change, mental health and violence against women. The WI has brought about real change, and this record of action shows that it is as relevant today as it was in 1915.
The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (the NFWI) is responsible for running the organisation and provides support and advice to members at both regional and local levels.
About the role
Operating across the full spectrum of media and platforms, you will implement innovative marketing campaigns that build engagement that positions the WI as the UK’s leading women’s organisation. The organisation will look to you to help shape and deliver its marketing and communications strategy whilst championing innovation in print and digital advertising, video, audio, brand and sponsored content, affiliate marketing, influencing, websites and internal communications. Equally importantly, you will actively interpret data to drive campaigning and track your success through in-depth analytics, so you will require a highly analytical mindset and a meticulous approach to everything you do.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
