Marketing Operations Assistant - Placement Year (July 2027)

BMW Park Lane, Park Lane

As a Marketing Operations Assistant at BMW Group Park Lane, you’ll gain hands-on experience working across a small, agile and fast-paced marketing team for three premium automotive brands - BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad. Based at our Mayfair showroom, you’ll support a wide range of marketing activities including social media, CRM, events, content creation and digital enquiry management. You’ll also assist with the day-to-day running of departments, including tasks such as stationary ordering, raising purchase orders and supporting with finance administration. This is a varied role, offering the opportunity to learn how a busy and experienced, multi-brand marketing team operates day to day.

What awaits you:

Within this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, helping you develop a well-rounded understanding of marketing within a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Social media: Support with community management across BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad social channels, including responding to comments and messages, helping to build and develop our engaged community.
  • Content & copywriting: Assist with creating content and writing copy for social posts, websites, emails and other marketing communications, ensuring all content reflects the appropriate brand tone of voice and corporate identity.
  • Events: Support the planning and delivery of customer and brand events and partnerships, including researching and sourcing suppliers, ordering event materials, helping with event logistics.
  • CRM & email marketing: Support the team with CRM activity, including preparing email communications, managing databases and helping with campaign administration.
  • Digital enquiries: Provide support with the processing of customer enquiries and shared mailboxes, helping the team respond efficiently during busy periods and ensuring enquiries are directed to the right team.
  • Marketing administration: Assist with the day-to-day running of the marketing department and showroom operations, including online ordering, supporting the extended team with ad-hoc projects and developing and documenting processes.

What should you bring along?

  • Creativity: You’re curious, creative and keen to contribute fresh ideas to marketing campaigns, content and events.
  • Communication: You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are confident communicating with different audiences.
  • Organisation: You’re organised, reliable and able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail: You take pride in your work and understand the importance of accuracy when working across customer communications and marketing activity.
  • Digital confidence: You’re comfortable using Microsoft Office and have an interest in social media and digital marketing.
  • Team player: You enjoy working collaboratively, are happy to get involved wherever needed and are keen to learn from an experienced marketing team.
  • Marketing interest: You are currently studying, or have recently studied, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related subject, and are looking to gain practical marketing experience.
  • Interest in automotive: You have a genuine interest in the automotive industry and enthusiasm for working with premium automotive brands.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, with the ability to adapt to a varied range of tasks.
  • UK Driving licence: Desirable but not essential. There may be occasional requirements to drive vehicles to support content creation, vehicle movements and events across London.
