Why This Role

Modulr is becoming a genuinely AI-forward business. We want to be early adopters of the automation and tooling that make a focused team far more effective, and marketing operations is where much of that gets designed and built.

The function sits within marketing, so your attention stays on marketing’s systems and priorities, working closely with RevOps and our internal technology team rather than being spread thin across every part of the go-to-market org.

This is a hands-on build. You will be in the systems yourself, designing and shipping the infrastructure the whole team runs on.

Who We Are

Modulr is the payments automation platform that streamlines money movement with accuracy, control and reliability, built to scale. We process more than 200m transactions and over £180bn in payment value on an annualised basis, and we are trusted by over 6,000 businesses from fast-growing SMEs to global enterprises.

We automate how money moves into and out of a business (payroll, supplier payments, spend management and payment collection) through a single platform, connected to the accounting and payroll systems finance teams already use, and underpinned by principal memberships of Visa and Mastercard and direct access to central bank infrastructure.

As a regulated payments provider with over a decade of experience, we are the platform finance teams trust to run mission-critical operations. Modulr is backed by PayPal, FIS, General Atlantic, Blenheim Chalcot, Frog Capital and Highland Europe, with over 400 employees across London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Mumbai.

The Role

You will own the marketing technology stack and the measurement layer behind it. There is a capable marketing team, a business with real momentum and an appetite to be measured properly. Your opportunity is to make the funnel legible from first touch through to closed won, and to build infrastructure that lets marketers move quickly under their own steam.

This is a practitioner’s role first. You will have a small team around you and access to agency support, but the expectation is that you are in the platforms doing the work: building the flows, modelling the data, wiring the integrations and shipping the automation. If you are looking for a seat where you set direction and hand it to a team of specialists, this is not that role. If you like being the person who actually builds it, it is a good one.

The thread running through all of it is self-sufficiency. The most valuable thing you can do here is configure the technology so that individual marketers can do more on their own: launch campaigns, build pages, pull their own numbers and test their own ideas, without a request queue in front of them. That means designing systems and guardrails other people can use confidently, and it is the outcome we will judge this role on more than any single project.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will work closely with our internal technology team, who own the platforms and integrations across the business, and with RevOps, who own reporting from opportunity through to closed won. Both relationships matter. Getting to one version of the numbers across marketing and sales, and one set of systems that work together, depends on this role being a good partner as much as a good builder.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and architect the stack - Take our marketing automation, CRM integration, enrichment and intent tooling and make it a designed system rather than a collection of tools. Decide what stays, what goes and what gets rebuilt, and then do the rebuilding.
  • Make marketing self-sufficient - Build the templates, modules, workflows and guardrails that let marketers ship campaigns and pages themselves. Design for distribution: the goal is capability spread across the team, not a queue pointing at you.
  • Build the measurement layer - Model attribution from first touch through to closed won, define the events and properties that make it work, and be able to explain the trade-offs in the model rather than only the tooling behind it.
  • Run reporting as a service - Dashboards and reporting that stand up on their own, so nobody is hand-building numbers every week, and so a commercial question can be answered without a project.
  • Put AI to work across marketing operations - This is central to the role, not an add-on. We want someone who reaches for automation and AI by default: agents that handle the repetitive work, enrichment and data hygiene that run themselves, content and campaign workflows that compress cycle times, and internal tooling you build yourself when nothing off the shelf fits. You will also coach the wider team to build their own, so AI fluency spreads rather than staying with you.
  • Own the conversion infrastructure - The forms, tracking, routing and testing that decide whether demand converts, working alongside product marketing on the website as a pipeline asset.
  • Partner across technology and RevOps - Work as one team with the internal technology function on platforms and integrations, and hold a clean, well-defined seam with RevOps so marketing and sales read from the same numbers.
  • Keep the data honest - Governance, hygiene and compliance in a regulated business, built in a way that speeds the team up rather than slowing it down.

Who You Are

  • You have owned a marketing technology stack end to end and architected it yourself, rather than directing others to.
  • You are genuinely hands-on and want to stay that way. You are comfortable being the person in the platform at 4pm on a Thursday making it work.
  • You have built attribution from first touch through to closed won, and you can defend the model, including where it is imperfect and why.
  • You think about enablement instinctively. You build things other people can use, and you would rather remove a dependency than become one.
  • Strong data modelling and reporting instincts. You turn a vague commercial question into an analysis without waiting for a specification.
  • You work well across technical teams, and you can hold a clear, un-defensive boundary with a revenue operations function and make the seam productive.
  • Real fluency with AI, and a strong instinct to use it. You have built and shipped your own agents, automations and internal tools, and your first question about a manual process is whether it needs to be manual at all. There is an AI component to the exercise you will do with us, and we would love you to walk us through what you have built.
  • B2B is a requirement. HubSpot and Salesforce at depth, intent and enrichment tooling, and data governance in a regulated industry are strong pluses, as is experience through the £50–150M ARR band.
