We install marketing systems into restaurants across the UK. Our clients hit £100k weeks, their videos pass 20 million views, and several sit at number 1 on TripAdvisor for their town.
Behind that sits Slate, the platform we built ourselves, plus an AI-heavy stack that runs everything from scheduling to per-client AI agents. This role runs that machine.
Be clear about the shape of it before you apply: there is no playbook for most of this work. You will be handed problems, not instructions.
Pay is $2,800 to $4,300 per month depending on location and experience, paid in USD.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Day-to-day marketing operations across around ten restaurant brands: scheduling pipelines, content runway health, getting work delivered
- Client-facing AI automations, DM and comment flows, per-client AI agents, localised per brand, click-tested, kept true to each client's own source of truth
- The marketing infrastructure itself: Meta Business access, scheduling integrations, the connections between systems, troubleshot with logs and isolation rather than guesses
- Complex ad-hoc client work: landing pages, booking-flow fixes, outreach campaigns, data pulls, finished to a standard that goes straight to the client
- Working with AI properly: you are the editor, and everything an AI produces gets verified against reality before it moves anywhere

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR
Initiative is the whole job. We can teach the stack. We cannot teach someone to realise that a DNS change might take a client's email down before they make it.
- A software-engineering-adjacent background plus real marketing operations experience. You have administered a martech stack, written automations you then had to keep alive, and been the last pair of eyes before a paying customer saw the result.
- Verification is a reflex, not a process. You report things done once you have watched them work.
- You use AI as a power tool and stay the editor. You know what it should not be allowed to touch.
- Fast with everyday software: screen recordings, DNS basics, browser automation, APIs.
- You compress. A 60-second voice note over a 30-minute recording. Five lines over five paragraphs.
- You look before you ask, push back with reasons when you disagree, and act on direct feedback fast.

Do not apply if you need a specific instruction for every step. This seat will frustrate you and we will both know within a fortnight.
HOW HIRING WORKS
No long interview process. We start with a paid trial of one to two weeks on live work, and we both find out quickly.
You need to overlap UK working hours. Depending on your timezone that can mean an evening or overnight shift, so be sure it suits you before you apply. Everything else about where you are is flexible.
Applications go through our own form, not a CV. It takes about twenty minutes and asks real questions about how you work.
