Position Summary
This position manages key strategic NBA marketing partner relationships, oversees day-to-day account management, and leads activation efforts across a portfolio of global and regional partners. The role supports upselling and renewal discussions; sales and negotiation experience is therefore advantageous. Based in London, the position requires some travel within Europe and the Middle East.
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee fulfilment of partners’ full sponsorship portfolios across the NBA and its affiliate properties.
- Lead day-to-day partner activation processes, including activation planning and approvals, promotional development, media planning, financial management, advertising creation and approval, and event coordination, including at international events.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for partnership matters, from activation strategy through delivery of contractual rights.
- Support the wider Marketing Partnerships team by maintaining evergreen documentation and leading post-event reporting where relevant across the partner portfolio.
- Provide partnership expertise through a strong understanding of contractual terms, league and partner business goals, target audiences, marketing strategies, industry best practices, and market developments.
- Develop upsell opportunities with the Marketing Partnerships team lead to support department revenue goals while aligning with partner brand objectives.
- Identify solutions to partner business challenges and proactively resolve project roadblocks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and, where applicable, their lead agencies.
- Build effective working relationships across NBA teams, including Global Partnerships EME and international markets, Media, Events, Legal, Marketing, Brand, and Consumer.
- Oversee partner budgets and P&Ls.
- Execute partnership goals and success metrics, implementing measurement plans and providing regular reporting and recaps.
- Lead partner management initiatives across the department, including partner engagement and touchpoint strategies.
- Support overall commercial growth through participation in cross-functional workstreams.

Required Skills/Knowledge
- Strong understanding of marketing, promotions, sponsorship activation, events, media, marketing rights, and content.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful marketing and event strategies for clients.
- Excellent internal and external relationship management skills, including experience engaging senior executives and adapting to different personalities and working styles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create and lead effective presentations.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute partner strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to create internal and external reports.
- Ability to anticipate project issues, solve problems, and remove roadblocks.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and collaborative self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Education/Professional Experience
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, account management, brand management, or a related field.
- Experience supporting sales, upselling, renewal, or negotiation activity is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
