Role Overview
As a Marketing Performance & GEO Consultant, you will:
- Bring a strong background in digital marketing performance, search and analytics, with the ability to help large organisations improve visibility, engagement and commercial outcomes across traditional search engines, AI-powered search and wider digital channels.
- During client projects, you will be hands-on in assessing marketing and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) maturity, defining integrated GEO and SEO strategies, analysing performance, shaping content and technical recommendations, and supporting test-and-learn programmes.
- You will connect brand visibility and customer discovery to measurable outcomes, helping clients build a sustainable optimisation capability for an AI-first search landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design integrated marketing performance, SEO and GEO strategies aligned to client growth objectives, customer needs and priority journeys.
- Assess current marketing performance and AI-search readiness across content, technical, off-page, local, data, measurement, technology, governance and ways of working.
- Establish performance baselines across traditional search and generative engines, including brand presence, citation visibility, share of voice, referral traffic, engagement, conversion and commercial value.
- Create representative prompt sets and query taxonomies based on customer intent, products, services, topics and journey stages, and use them to identify visibility gaps and competitor opportunities.
- Conduct GEO and SEO audits covering content quality and structure, semantic relevance, entity clarity, authority signals, structured data, crawlability, accessibility and technical readiness.
- Translate audit findings into prioritised recommendations, implementation roadmaps, pilot definitions and ongoing optimisation backlogs.
- Develop content recommendations that make accurate, authoritative information easier for customers, search engines and AI systems to discover, understand and reuse.
- Partner with technical teams to shape recommendations for site architecture, metadata, structured data, internal linking, indexation, performance and agent-readable experiences.
- Design and execute controlled GEO, SEO and marketing performance tests, defining hypotheses, success metrics, measurement approaches and learning agendas.
- Analyse marketing, search, website and AI-visibility data to identify performance drivers, journey friction and opportunities for improved acquisition and conversion.
- Build dashboards and reporting cadences that connect visibility and traffic metrics to engagement, conversion, revenue, ROI and other client outcomes.
- Integrate GEO insight with paid media, organic search, content, PR, social, CRO and campaign planning to improve end-to-end marketing performance.
- Define governance, operating models and cross-agency ways of working that embed GEO alongside established SEO, content and digital optimisation processes.
- Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to accelerate research, analysis, content evaluation, opportunity generation and performance reporting while maintaining human oversight and quality control.
- Monitor changes in generative search, search-engine behaviour and measurement capabilities, translating developments into practical implications for clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
