Marketing, PR & Content Manager

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Marketing, PR & Content Manager to lead the marketing, communications and public relations activity of our auction house.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who combines strategic thinking with strong project management and creative execution. You will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing campaigns that increase sales, strengthen our brand presence and engage both existing and new clients.
Working closely with auction house managers, specialists and the wider operations team, you will play a key role in promoting our auction calendar, developing compelling campaigns and ensuring that our brand is represented consistently and professionally across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with sales targets and wider business objectives.
- Plan and oversee multi-channel campaigns across digital, social media, paid advertising, print, events and partnerships.
- Develop campaign concepts and themes around upcoming auctions and key business initiatives.
- Identify new marketing opportunities and channels to increase brand awareness and attract new buyers and consignors.
Campaign & Project Management
- Manage marketing campaigns from initial concept through to delivery, ensuring deadlines, budgets and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate closely with specialists, auction managers, operations and external suppliers.
- Support photography and creative shoots, ensuring imagery and visual content meet brand standards.
- Manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously within a fast-paced auction environment.
Marketing Performance & Budget
- Develop and manage marketing budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Monitor campaign performance and analyse key marketing and sales metrics.
- Prepare regular reports and recommendations to support business and sales planning.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities and changes in buyer behaviour.
PR & Brand Communications
- Lead the auction house’s PR strategy and develop strong media angles around upcoming sales, specialist areas and notable lots.
- Research upcoming auctions and identify stories and opportunities with strong editorial potential.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, publications and relevant third-party platforms.
- Manage relationships with platforms and media partners including The Saleroom, ATG, Barnebys and other industry and media partners.
- Ensure a consistent, professional and engaging brand tone across all client-facing communications.

Creative & Content
- Create and coordinate artwork and visual assets for paid advertising, social media and editorial placements.
- Plan, film and present short-form video content personally, showcasing upcoming auctions, individual lots, collections, specialists and other aspects of the business.
- Be comfortable appearing on camera and acting as a visible representative of the brand, bringing personality and expertise to video content.
- Develop creative video concepts, scripts and storylines suitable for social media and digital marketing.
- Film and edit, or coordinate the editing of, engaging video content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and RedNote.
- Develop engaging written and visual content across all social channels.
- Prepare blog posts, email marketing content, press materials and other editorial content supporting upcoming auctions and brand storytelling.
- Work closely with specialists and auction house managers to identify interesting lots and stories that can be turned into engaging video and social content.
- Develop a consistent and recognisable visual identity and tone across all content.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and optimise the company’s Google Ads activity.
- Oversee website updates, ensuring auction information, lot information and promotional content are accurate, timely and engaging.
- Plan, create and schedule weekly email marketing campaigns promoting upcoming auctions, results and key announcements.
- Monitor digital performance and identify opportunities to improve traffic, engagement and conversion.
Client Relations & B2C Marketing
- Develop B2C marketing initiatives designed to attract, engage and retain buyers.
- Support client retention through effective post-sale communication and after-sale care.
- Gather and communicate client feedback to relevant internal teams to improve the overall customer experience.
- Support the Auction Manager with staff training relating to client communication and brand standards.
- Represent the company professionally in client-facing situations and at relevant events.

Operational Support
- Work collaboratively with the wider team and provide operational support when required.
- Assist with customer enquiries, locating lots, and other day-to-day auction-house requirements.
- Take a flexible, hands-on approach to supporting the smooth running of auctions and the wider business.
About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, creative, organised and confident. You should be comfortable taking ownership of projects from strategy through to execution and working across multiple areas of the business.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, PR or a related role.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating and managing digital and social media campaigns.
- Experience with Google Ads, email marketing and website content management.
- Strong creative judgement and an eye for high-quality visual content.
- Experience developing relationships with media, publications and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret campaign performance and marketing data.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach.
- The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with specialists and management.
- An interest in art, antiques, collectibles, auctions or the luxury sector would be highly advantageous.

28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
Job Type: Full-time – 37.5 hours
Salary: £34,000–£36,000 per annum, depending on experience.
