The Marketing Projects Manager

The Marketing Projects Manager plans and delivers fundraising, awareness, and engagement campaigns that help grow support for the charity. They work with colleagues, agencies, and partners to create impactful marketing activity, manage projects, and improve campaign performance.

Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity funds life-changing research, equipment, and patient care initiatives, working alongside world-renowned heart and lung specialists to improve outcomes for patients and their families.

Description

Line Management:

  • Line manage the Digital Marketing Officer, supporting their development within role through clear objectives, feedback, and KPIs
  • Support line report by advising on translation of digital marketing principles into print where required
  • Support workload management and prioritisation across digital marketing requirements

Campaign Planning and Project Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of integrated fundraising, brand awareness, and engagement campaigns, translating strategic briefs into clear project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, KPIs, and creative outputs
  • Manage the full creative development process across fundraising, individual giving, legacy, and engagement campaigns, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and brand standards
  • Coordinate campaign activity across digital, social media, email, website, print, events, and partner channels, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Develop and manage relationships with creative, digital, and production agencies to ensure high-quality delivery and maximum value
  • Maintain accurate, accessible, and up-to-date project information, monitoring progress, risks, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead post-campaign evaluations, capturing performance insights, ROI, learnings, and recommendations to inform future activity

Digital Marketing Strategy and Performance:

  • Oversee the development, delivery, and optimisation of paid digital campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, lead generation, income generation, and conversion
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Officer and external agencies or partners to ensure digital campaigns are delivered effectively on time and within budget
  • Lead email marketing strategy, including audience segmentation, supporter journeys, marketing automation, A/B testing, and deliverability improvements to increase supporter engagement, stewardship, and income
  • Develop integrated digital campaign plans that connect paid, owned, and earned channels into clear supporter journeys, from awareness through to donation, event registration, and regular giving
  • Lead SEO strategy across technical, content, and on-page optimisation, including audits, keyword research, and content planning to improve organic visibility for key fundraising appeals, events, and impact content
  • Own measurement, reporting, and insight across website and campaign performance using data to identify opportunities, drive optimisation, and demonstrate return on investment

Content and Compliance:

  • Champion digital storytelling, collaborating with colleagues to translate patient, family, and staff experiences, research, and impact into compelling, sensitive, and accurate content across channels
  • Take ownership for developing content for our digital channels, including copy, images, and video content, in collaboration with the wider marketing team and creative agency
  • Ensure digital activity meets relevant governance and compliance requirements, including GDPR/PECR, cookie consent, safeguarding considerations, and appropriate approvals for sensitive content

Profile

  • Experienced in delivering integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, events, and social channels
  • Proven track record of running fundraising, supporter engagement, and awareness campaigns that drive income and impact
  • Strong project manager, able to coordinate multiple stakeholders, agencies, budgets, and competing priorities
  • Experience managing and developing team members, providing coaching, support, and performance oversight
  • Comfortable overseeing website content, CMS updates, and digital marketing activity alongside broader campaign delivery
  • Data-driven marketer with experience using analytics, audience insight, and A/B testing to improve supporter journeys and conversions
  • Excellent communicator and copywriter, able to create compelling content and tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Collaborative, organised, and proactive, with experience working in charities, healthcare, NHS, or other purpose-led organisations
