Marketing Research Specialist
A fantastic opportunity at a top US law firm for an experienced Marketing Research Specialist to support the firm’s Business Development and Marketing teams with company, industry, and market intelligence. This role is ideal for a strong researcher and writer who can turn complex information into concise, polished, business-focused insights, using leading research databases and AI tools to identify opportunities and support strategic decision-making.

Marketing Research Specialist – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct secondary research across companies, industries, markets, and transactions to support business development initiatives
- Produce high-quality company profiles, executive biographies, M&A research and tracking, and current-awareness reports
- Identify market trends, business opportunities, and relevant intelligence to support strategic growth
- Use research platforms including Lexis, Capital IQ, and Mergermarket, alongside company websites, news sources, and AI tools
- Analyse and synthesise complex information into concise, accurate, and business-focused summaries and written deliverables
- Tailor research findings and recommendations to the needs of internal stakeholders across Business Development and Marketing
- Leverage AI platforms, including Copilot, Harvey, and AlphaSense, to enhance research efficiency while applying independent judgement and quality control
- Maintain exceptional standards of grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, and accuracy across all written work
- Communicate research findings confidently and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the firm
- Support reporting, data manipulation, and analysis, using Excel to enhance research outputs and streamline processes

Marketing Research Specialist – What We’re Looking For:

- 3+ years’ experience in market research, business intelligence, or a related role, ideally within a law firm
- Strong secondary research skills, with experience gathering information from a variety of business intelligence sources and databases
- Confident using research databases and information platforms, with experience of tools such as Lexis, Capital IQ, and Mergermarket advantageous
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using AI tools to support research, with the ability to critically assess outputs and ensure accuracy
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation, reporting, dashboards, and automation, would be a significant advantage
