About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Senior Specialist (Europe) to join our Marketing & Client Development team at Cooley LLP. This pivotal role is part of the Business Unit Marketing Team, serving as a strategic partner and primary liaison between practice group leadership and the broader marketing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and supporting business development and marketing initiatives specific to the London Office within the Life Sciences industry. This includes managing marketing plans, coordinating client events and seminars, overseeing internal and external communications, producing collateral and pitches, and maintaining CRM activities. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in marketing or business development within professional services, particularly those with experience in the life sciences sector, to contribute directly to the firm’s growth and client engagement strategies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in marketing or business development, preferably within the legal or professional services industry.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience in the life sciences sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, and other relevant firm applications.
- Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, and familiarity with market research tools such as Pitchbook and CapitalIQ.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to operate independently with a high degree of professionalism.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities
As a Marketing Senior Specialist, your core responsibilities will include:
- Executing the physical build and high-fidelity formatting of pitches, proposals, and client responses to ensure a polished, client-facing presentation.
- Serving as the "Power User" for the firm’s CRM (Salesforce), ensuring meticulous tracking of the practice’s sales pipeline and activities for accurate reporting and analysis.
- Managing the collection and organization of practice matter experience and deal sheets within the firm’s central databases, supporting the firm’s knowledge management and business development efforts.
- Utilizing firm technologies such as Pitchbook and CapitalIQ to conduct market research, compile dossiers, and generate research reports in support of pitch meetings and partner requests.
- Coordination of sponsorship fulfillment, including logo submissions, ad placements, and ticket allocations.
- Liaising with Strategy & Enablement teams to stage practice-specific content on digital channels, ensuring SEO metadata is correctly implemented to maximize online visibility.
- Supporting practice-led events, including logistical arrangements, managing RSVP data, and on-site materials, fostering client relationships and enhancing the firm’s profile.
- Overseeing the accurate tagging of BU activities in the CRM, enabling the Insights team to provide actionable optimization guidance.
- Performing other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative team environment focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
