Role Overview
ABS, a Genus Company, has an excited opportunity. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist (Hybrid in Nantwich, U.K.) to join our marketing team.
The Marketing Specialist applies various communication strategies to create an impression, raise brand awareness, and generate customer and prospect interest. This individual is responsible for implementing marketing campaigns; planning and executing marketing, communications, and sales team and customer engagement activities, including, media planning and public relations; trade show management, campaign development, project planning, and customer experience visits.
The specialist must have experience with creating both online and offline assets including brochures, articles, social media materials, events, websites, and email campaigns. They will ensure that all assets have met brand and tone standards.
The Marketing Specialist is highly self-motivated, skilled in interpersonal relations, skilled in decision making, problem solving, proactive, and has a working knowledge of current marketing tools and strategies to execute successful marketing campaigns and industry events.
This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week onsite at our Stapeley, Nantwich in Cheshire, U.K., with up to 20% of travel domestically and potentially internationally.
The annual pay-range for this position is between £27,000 and £34,000. The amount provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
You Will
Sales Tools, Directories, Marketing Materials:
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products, target markets, customer needs, and value proposition while building expertise across multiple marketing disciplines.
- Lead the development of integrated marketing tactics that drive brand awareness, including marketing and sales tools, print publications, brochures, advertisements, website, social media, email, and more.
- Project manage design, printing, and distribution across marketing channels. Facilitate list acquisition and management.
Public Relations:
- Identifies key associations that align with the beef and dairy industries and Genus ABS’ Go-To-Market Strategies.
- Manages relationships with industry press and associations, including maintaining subscriptions, identifying appropriate events for our strategic initiatives, list acquisition, and advertising opportunities.
- Writes clear and interesting articles for inclusion in association newsletters and publications.
- Develops advertising plans with appropriate associations, works with the marketing team to develop appropriate messaging and artwork, tracks campaign success, and manages related budget(s).
- Maintains metrics across all industry association outreach and partnership activities.

Trade Shows and Events Management:
- Manages the trade show schedule and maintains calendar of shows our isales teams attend.
- Oversees all details related to trade shows, including strategy, staffing, stand equipment, materials, supplies, show documentation, contracts, correspondences with show organisers, and ensuring all necessary deadlines are met.
- Works cross-functionally to ensure the right messaging and approach is showcased and that goals for lead generation are achieved.
- Maintains trade show equipment storage space, budgets, processes payments, monitors expenses, and prepares reports related to trade shows; evaluates ROI and recommends opportunities to enhance exhibit performance.
- Represents Genus ABS at conferences and trade shows.
Marketing Support:
- Assist with campaign strategy, development, and tracking.
- Working with the marketing team and other stakeholders, maintain a project management system to ensure deadlines are met, projects are executed successfully, and results are tracked.
- Assist with internal and external sales team engagement and communications, such as webinar planning, monthly newsletters, regional marketing outreach, and more.
- Assist with the development of annual calendars.
Requirements
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience required.
- Agriculture industry experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and potentially internationally.
Technical Marketing Expertise
- Understanding and proven success in utilising digital marketing and automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, WordPress, social media management platforms).
- Demonstrated experience in marketing automation, campaign management, lead generation, direct marketing, database marketing, and/or Internet marketing.
- Solid understanding of marketing concepts including lead management processes, customer lifecycle, lead nurturing, and marketing automation systems.
- Ability to track trends to identify innovative ways to evolve strategy, grow audiences, and drive conversions.
- Strategic mindset that considers both short-term and long-term ROI.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to test, measure, optimise, identify trends, and derive actionable insights.
Communication & Presentations Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Above-average interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively present information to management and stakeholders.
Project Management & Execution
- Experience negotiating contracts and sponsorships.
- Experience preparing budgets and basic accounting knowledge.
- Strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accountability to meet or exceed goals.
