Marketing Lead

Location: Birmingham, UK

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Lead – Southern Europe to develop and execute Cisco Security’s integrated marketing strategy across Southern Europe.

The role will work closely with regional sales leadership, EMEA Marketing, country teams, partners, and global marketing functions to translate business priorities and market opportunities into high-impact marketing programmes.

The successful candidate will be commercially minded, data-driven, and comfortable managing multiple markets, stakeholders, and priorities within a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated Security marketing strategy across Southern Europe, aligned with regional growth and sales objectives.
  • Build annual and quarterly marketing plans covering digital marketing, demand generation, partner/channel marketing, events, customer marketing, and Account-Based Marketing (ABM).
  • Act as a strategic marketing partner to Southern Europe Sales Leadership, aligning marketing activity with pipeline goals, strategic accounts, and business priorities.
  • Develop locally relevant programmes across multiple Southern European markets while maintaining regional consistency.
  • Prioritise marketing investments based on business opportunity, pipeline requirements, market potential, and expected ROI.
  • Plan and execute multi-channel marketing programmes across the customer journey, including:
    • Executive engagement
    • Customer and partner events
    • Industry conferences
    • Webinars and virtual experiences
    • Digital and demand-generation campaigns
    • Pipeline acceleration programmes
    • Sales prospecting initiatives
    • ABM programmes
    • Customer expansion and advocacy
  • Partner with sales and product marketing to identify strategic accounts and buying groups and develop targeted ABM programmes.
  • Drive audience acquisition through sales teams, partners, SDR/ADR organisations, digital channels, social/communications teams, and external agencies.
  • Develop and manage strategic event programmes from concept through execution, ensuring business, quality, budget, and ROI objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure effective campaign operations, including lead management, data quality, attribution, and follow-up.
  • Track campaign performance using funnel metrics, pipeline reporting, analytics, and ROI measurements.
  • Provide regular business reviews and performance updates to Sales and EMEA Marketing leadership.
  • Monitor cybersecurity market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and industry developments across Southern Europe.
  • Support customer advocacy initiatives, including customer references, success stories, testimonials, and peer engagement.
  • Share best practices and contribute to wider EMEA Security Marketing initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience developing and executing integrated regional, field, or multi-country marketing strategies with measurable pipeline and revenue impact.
  • Experience managing marketing programmes across multiple countries or markets.
  • Strong experience working with enterprise sales organisations, including business planning, account prioritisation, lead management, and pipeline development.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Demand Generation
    • Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
    • Digital Marketing
    • Event Marketing
    • Customer Lifecycle Marketing
    • Partner & Channel Marketing
    • Integrated Campaign Management
  • Experience delivering multi-channel programmes across awareness, acquisition, expansion, retention, and advocacy.
  • Experience developing programmes for enterprise and strategic accounts, including executive engagement and ABM.
  • Experience managing both digital and in-person events.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems, marketing automation, lead management, attribution, and campaign measurement.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Eloqua, or equivalent marketing automation platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience managing significant marketing budgets and reporting on marketing ROI.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to marketing optimisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across regional, EMEA, and global cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project and programme management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Language Requirements

  • English: Fluent / strong professional communication skills.
  • French: B2 level or above – required for this role.
  • Fluency in additional Southern European languages would be advantageous.

Preferred Background

Experience within cybersecurity, enterprise technology, SaaS, or another complex B2B technology environment would be highly advantageous.
