Marketing Transformation Director - Contract
Location: London - Hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite
Day Rate: £550-£650 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract: 8 weeks
Start date: 21st September
We are working with a leading global creative and marketing consultancy looking for an experienced Marketing Transformation Director to lead complex transformation engagements for major clients.
This is a senior, client-facing consulting role requiring someone who can take ownership of projects from initial discovery through to recommendations and implementation. You will work closely with senior marketing leaders to assess their current organisations and design the operating models, capabilities, processes, and ways of working required for the future.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience gained within a major media, creative, advertising, or marketing agency/network, alongside a strong background delivering Marketing Transformation programmes.
The Role
You will lead client projects and workstreams across areas including:
- Marketing Transformation and Target Operating Model design
- Marketing organisational design, including structures, roles, and responsibilities
- Current-state assessments, gap analysis, and future-state design
- Process mapping, governance, and new ways of working
- Change management and transformation roadmaps
- Marketing capability assessments and capability-building programmes
- AI transformation and identifying opportunities to embed AI into marketing workflows
- Senior stakeholder interviews, workshops, and presentations
- Translating strategic recommendations into practical, executable solutions
- Managing project teams, deliverables, timelines, and senior client relationships
- Supporting proposals, pitches, project scoping, and wider new business activity

This is a hands-on Director position. Alongside leading clients and project teams, you will be expected to get into the detail of the work - conducting analysis, shaping recommendations, and producing high-quality client presentations and decks.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years' experience across consulting, marketing transformation, or related strategic roles
- Strong agency-side experience, ideally within a major media, creative, advertising, or marketing network
- Demonstrable experience delivering Marketing Transformation projects
- Strong knowledge of Target Operating Models, organisational design, and marketing operating models
- Experience across change management, process mapping, governance, ways of working, and/or capability building
- Track record of leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholders
- Comfortable advising senior Marketing and C-suite stakeholders
- Ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on project delivery
- Excellent presentation and PowerPoint/deck-building capability
- Strong facilitation skills across stakeholder interviews and workshops
- Experience translating ambiguous client challenges into structured recommendations and transformation roadmaps
- Experience delivering AI strategy, AI transformation, marketing AI maturity assessments, AI-enabled process redesign, or capability programmes would be highly advantageous.
