Job Description
You’re the brains behind our work.
You’re ready to bring your knowledge from the classroom to the boardroom and Citi wants to help you get there. Whether it’s honing your skills or building your network, we know that success can’t come without growth. Our programmes equip you with the knowledge and training you need to play a valuable role on your team and establish a long-term career here. At Citi, we value internal mobility and career growth is not a question of if, but when.
You'll support the day-to-day operations of our global Markets business as part of the Markets Chief Operating Office (COO), the team that enables and drives business performance. The Markets COO spans three key areas: Business Execution; Risk, Control & Transformation; and Innovation & Investments. Across these functions, you'll gain exposure to diverse aspects of the business, from partnering with trading desks and delivering key controls to supporting business development, strategic insights, and AI-enabled initiatives. Working alongside subject matter experts, you'll help identify opportunities to enhance processes and leverage technology to drive efficiency and automation.
Programme description

Side by side job shadowing and coaching with your team will be combined with the opportunity to work with counterparts in one of the world’s largest investment banks. You will have exposure to a range of sales and trading activities and work with new and cutting-edge technologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
