Connect2Hackney are recruiting for an experienced MASH Social Worker to join Hackney Children's Services on a locum basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where you'll play a vital role in safeguarding children and ensuring timely, effective responses to referrals and concerns.

The Role

As a MASH Social Worker, you will undertake high-quality assessments, gather and analyse information from a range of agencies, and make informed decisions that promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. You will work closely with professionals across health, education, police and partner agencies to ensure children receive the right intervention at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake screening and assessment of contacts and referrals concerning children and families.
  • Gather information from children, families and partner agencies to develop holistic assessments of need and risk.
  • Analyse complex information and make evidence-based recommendations regarding safeguarding interventions.
  • Apply child protection legislation, statutory guidance and London Child Protection Procedures in practice.
  • Produce clear, concise and analytical reports and records.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support effective information sharing and decision-making.
  • Ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed promptly and in line with statutory timescales.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and management information systems.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Social Work England registration
  • 3 Years perm experience within an English LA
  • Experience within Children's Social Care, preferably in a MASH, Assessment or Duty setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection legislation and statutory frameworks
  • Experience undertaking assessments and analysing risk and protective factors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
