About The Role
Mason (Reinstatement White Top) - Swansea, SA6 8QL
Join Balfour Beatty Power T&D and help power communities across South Wales.
Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is looking for a Mason (Reinstatement White Top) to join our growing team supporting the NGED MTC Framework. Reporting to our Swansea depot, you will work across Swansea and Bridgend carrying out high-quality reinstatement works associated with LV and HV cable projects.

As a Mason within our Reinstatement Team, you will be responsible for carrying out White Top reinstatement works following excavation and cable installation activities across highways, private land, and substation environments.
Working under the direction of the Area Supervisor and Project Manager, you will ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the work involved in Reinstatement of trenches/surfaces for LV and HV cable systems and associated works to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty and National Grid standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere to all health & safety regulations and best practices.
- Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working on essential electricity reinforcement and maintenance projects in the Swansea and Bridgend area.
What You'll Be Doing
- To assist in the White top reinstatement of HV Cable Systems, Works include, Reinstatement of slabs, kerb edgings, Concrete patches, Bricksetts. Located in Town centre, Highway, private land.
- To ensure personal safety, safety of other personnel and members of the public at all times.
- Work within the guidelines of the Company Safety Policy, Quality and Security procedures.
- Set personal examples in all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents to his/ her superior.
- Ensure all personal protective equipment is clean, serviceable and worn as required.
- Ensure all carriageway and footway excavations are correctly signed guarded and lit.
- Report and not operate any unsafe plant, equipment or vehicles.
- Maintaining personal cleanliness and hygiene.
- Immediately inform a senior person of any hazard that places personnel or public at risk.
- Only authorised persons use plant and equipment.
- Cleanliness / Security of all vehicles, plant and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe site.
- To ensure that all work is carried out to meet Quality requirements.
- Assist the team leader at all times.

Who we're looking for
Essential
- Experience in reinstatement works including laying slabs, Kerbs, Bricksetts, Concrete patches.
- Experience in working with manual handling/ physical environment.
- General knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Experience in using hand tools correctly.
- Ability to follow functional instructions in English language both spoken and written; carrying them out reliably and efficiently.
- Experience of working in a team environment.
- Flexible approach to activities on site.
Desirable
- Experience of cabling.
- Valid U.K Clean Driving Licence.
- Construction Experience.
- Excavator and Dumper Qualifications.
- Streetworks (NRSWA).
