We’re looking for a commercially driven Northern Sales Lead to grow our wholesale footprint and lead a talented team of Partner Managers across one of the UK’s most dynamic on-trade markets.

This is a role for someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting opportunities, and turning strategy into measurable commercial growth.

As the Northern Sales Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving the commercial performance of the region while leading and developing a small but high-impact team. You’ll shape and execute the regional sales strategy, build strong partnerships across the trade, and ensure our customers get exceptional value from working with Master of Malt Trade.

What You’ll Be Doing

Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Northern sales strategy aligned with Master of Malt Trade’s wholesale growth objectives
  • Drive revenue growth across key accounts and new prospects in the region
  • Maintain ownership of the regional commercial picture, including forecasting, investment decisions and ROI
  • Track and report on commercial performance, proactively identifying risks and growth opportunities
  • Identify new segments, partnerships and routes to market within the trade
  • Manage a base of key accounts and prospects for the Northern territory for Master of Malt Trade.
  • Represent Master of Malt Trade at Northen based industry events and trade shows, expanding our network and influence

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Buying and Operations to execute product launches, promotions and commercial initiatives across the trade channel

People Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a team of Partner Managers, ensuring clear ownership of KPIs and commercial targets
  • Foster an entrepreneurial, agile and customer-focused culture within the team
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development to help team members reach their full potential
  • Run regular one-to-ones and team sessions, providing clear feedback, recognition and support

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong commercial leadership experience within the UK spirits or drinks industry
  • Proven on-trade account management experience in the North with strong knowledge of key industry players
  • Experience developing and executing sales or channel strategies in the North
  • Strong numerical and commercial acumen, including forecasting, financial analysis and P&L ownership
  • Ability to build value with stakeholders at all levels, including senior decision-makers
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Experience launching new products in the spirits category in the North is advantageous
  • Knowledge of fine, rare or craft spirits is highly desirable
  • Confident presenting insights, trends and commercial plans
  • Strong IT skills (Google Suite or equivalent)
  • WSET qualification desirable
  • Full UK driving licence required (this is a field-based role with regular travel)
  • Experience working the other side of the bar is a bonus
