Role Description
The Master Technician role at Perrys Motor Sales Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Barnsley. The Master Technician will carry out complex diagnostics, advanced mechanical and electrical repairs, and high-level fault finding using manufacturer-approved methods and diagnostic equipment. - Performing scheduled servicing and MOT-related work
- Overseeing quality standards
- Ensuring all work complies with safety and brand guidelines
- Supporting and mentoring other technicians
- Advising the service team on technical issues
- Providing clear explanations of vehicle conditions and repair requirements
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Following workshop processes
- Contributing to a positive, efficient, and customer-focused aftersales operation

Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repair, and electrical systems, with experience using modern diagnostic tools and software.
- Proficiency in routine servicing, MOT preparation and testing support, and manufacturer-approved repair methods.
- Relevant automotive qualifications, such as NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; Master Technician or manufacturer accreditation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a franchised dealership or professional workshop environment, preferably working with multiple brands.
- Ability to mentor, guide, and support junior technicians, promoting best practices and high standards of workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and right-first-time repairs.
- Effective communication skills for working with service advisors, colleagues, and customers, including clear explanation of technical issues.
- Full UK driving licence and a flexible, team-oriented approach, with willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and training.
