Role: Master Technician / Vehicle Mechanic
Location: Battersea Volkswagen (London) Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: OTE up to £55,480 (uncapped), including:
- £46,000 basic (adjusted based on qualifications)
- £3,000 Productivity Bonus + Time Saved Bonus Scheme Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8:00am–6:00pm, + optional Saturday rota)
About This Role
We’re recruiting a Master Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our high-performing workshop team at Battersea Volkswagen. You’ll collaborate with technicians and apprentices, using cutting-edge technology to:
- Perform vehicle health checks
- Complete manufacturer-approved vehicle services
- Execute authorised repairs and warranty work in line with guidelines
Reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager, you’ll receive ongoing support. We also offer career progression, including: ✅ Manufacturer-accredited training ✅ Hybrid & Electric Vehicle (EV) qualifications

Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle checks and diagnostics: Adhere to manufacturer guidelines for mechanical and electrical work.
- Services & repairs: Conduct regular services and carry out customer-approved repairs, including road tests.
- Warranty compliance: Ensure warranty work is within guidelines + proper documentation.
- Paperwork: Maintain absolute accuracy in completing relevant service records.
- Collaboration: Support the team while working to elevated standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Preferred: Master Technician Accreditation, plus mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Essential:
- Full and valid UK driving licence (icat4 category required)
- 3+ years’ industry experience, whether in dealer groups or independent garages
- Self-motivation, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence
Previous VW/Volkswagen experience is beneficial but not mandatory (brand-specific training will be provided). MOT, diagnostic, and EV knowledge also bolster your profile.
