About the Team
The Events team is responsible for planning and delivering a first-class matchday and major events experience for supporters, guests, and key stakeholders across Sunderland AFC’s first team home games and wider Club events.
Working collaboratively across the Club, the team supports a safe, welcoming, and high-performing environment by coordinating matchday activity across premium experience, fan zones, public catering areas, entertainment, supporter engagement, mascots, flag bearers, stadium tours, and external partners.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Matchday Coordinator to create and maintain a positive customer experience for all supporters at Sunderland AFC first team home games, helping to ensure every matchday is welcoming, engaging, and professionally delivered.

You will take ownership of the planning, coordination, and delivery of key matchday experience areas, including Premium Experience, Fanzones, public catering areas, matchday engagement, entertainment, mascots, flag bearers, and stadium tours.
With an innovative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement, you will research best practice across the industry, explore ideas from competitor stadiums where possible, and work closely with internal departments, external suppliers, entertainers, contractors, service providers, and local stakeholders to raise standards across matchdays and major events.

What We Ask For
We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and supporter-focused coordinator with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
The successful candidate will be required to work all home fixtures and major events at the Stadium of Light, use SeatGeek to support the management of Premium Experience packages.
An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
