Job Title: Material Handling

Salary: £25,750 to £28,600 (depending on experience)

Location: Aberdeen, Scotland

Benefits:

  • 29 days annual leave plus 4 public holidays
  • Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%
  • Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the facility, ensuring production and operational requirements are met.

Working closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams, you will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting a safe and productive working environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Receive and process all incoming goods, rental returns, and customer-owned equipment
  • Ensure inventory control, stock verification and storage management
  • Issue spares, consumables, PPE and equipment to support workshop activities
  • Pick, pack and dispatch sales orders
  • Maintain asset traceability, serial number records and stock accuracy
  • Support annual stock counts, audits and compliance activities
  • Coordinate with Customer Services, Supply Chain and Workshop teams to meet operational requirements
  • Promote and support QSHE standards and safety initiatives

What You Have:

  • You do not need to meet every point listed below to apply. We are interested in hearing from people with the potential to develop, as well as those who can bring established technical experience to the team.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling environment.
  • Previous experience in picking/ packing
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using inventory systems.
  • Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with safe working practices.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Additional Notes

This role is based at the Aberdeen Service Centre in Portlethen 5 days per week.
